Apr 16, 2013 - Barefoot Beach
After my dentist visit, I joined Chic, Marilyn, Josie, and Carol on Barefoot Beach in Bonita Springs. The beach is a public preserve that is reached by driving through a ritsy neighborhood with a brick-laid avenue. The beach is mostly crushed white shells as opposed to fine sand - water shoes do well on a beach called by this name! It was a very hot day, so it was good for going into the water that might have been in the low 80s - refreshing without being too cold!

Apr 15, 2013 - Wondergardens In Bonita Springs
When I moved down to Fort Myers Beach , Florida in 1963 my father and mother took me over to a small zoo in Bontia Springs. They had all the animals that you would see that live in the state of Florida. No BIG BIG animals like up north zoo , this is a local zoo for us. On TV we found that this local zoo was going to close it's door at the end of the month. The zoo has been open since 1936 and have been in the family for all those years from father to son and on down the line, until this month. The end of the line for the family to run the...

Mar 7, 2011 - Bonita Springs Beach Day
WP Franklin Lock Campground in Alva, FL … Monday, March 7, 2011 I got up a bit earlier than Charlie did this morning. I wanted to work on designing some greeting cards for my mother. She needed a couple to take back home with her. So I worked on those until about 9:30. Charlie and I then went out for our two mile walk around the park. We also walked out onto the pier to see if the fishermen were catching anything this morning. It appeared to be pretty calm out there. But nevertheless, it was a beautiful day to do anything outside. The...
