Jun 10, 2012 - And we're off
With deep breaths that we didn't forget anything, we left home at 9:15 this morning, after Evelyn and Cody came over to say goodbye. Excited to finally be on our way, the dinging of our emergency brake took us to our first stop, Firestone. A nice young man determined the brake sticks and needs manual help to release. With dinging stopped, we decided to avoid the interstate--programmed GG (GPS girl) to take us north via backroads. In true RV fashion, an hour later we were traipsing around the south end of DeLand after missing an exit! But at...

Feb 8, 2012 - Beautiful Downtown Bonifay
Bonifay, FL. 48 deg. clear, no wind. Forecast = Mostly cloudy in the morning then becoming partly cloudy. Highs around 69. North winds 10 to 15 mph. Jim and Linda didn't do a whole lot yesterday. Linda did some paperwork and made some phone calls, (which took a good part of the afternoon), but Jim didn't do much but play with the computer and sit outside. Randy and Terry were busy so I didn't see much of them during the day, but about 5:30 Jim and Linda walked over to their site and they all got into Randy and Terry's truck and headed to...

Sep 2, 2011 - Bonifay, Florida - escaping tropical storm “Lee”
After getting the tropical Storm warning shortly after setting up we decided to leave Foley AL after one night and drove 150 miles north and east to Bonifay Florida at Florida Springs RV Resort and Campground - not a pretty place but will do for a few days. By doing this we avoided the brunt of the storm and got out of the flood area - turns out they were expecting 10" - 20" of rain over 3-4 days. Its Sunday here in Bonifay and the thunder and rain started this morning its coming down quite hard but little wind, looks like we will have 2...

Dec 2, 2010 - Bonifay
Last evening (Tues.) while Charlie paced inside the coach, I took my time connecting the TOAD, rearranging loads and stowing gear for the next day’s departure. Having planned the route using “Google”, I knew we’d be traveling nearly 300 miles and would probably experience high winds along the way according to weather reports obtained via the internet. The trip was uneventful. There were high winds that tried to blow us off the highway not to mention the high winds that kept trying to blow us off the highway and I should mention the high...
