Jan 25, 2009 - Enjoying the Keys

The Keys are tropical islands and just what we wanted in January! Our camp was at Sunshine Key--a whole island is just one nice big campground. The next island west is Big Pine Key and most of it is a wildlife reserve for the Key Deer and for the Great White Heron. ... The cute little deer are favorites with tourists, but the locals get tired of the slow speed limit.The Keys are tropical islands and just what we wanted in January! Happy 2009 to everyone! We arrived in the Florida Keys Sunday after spending the night at the Miccosukee Indian Casino in Miami. There were lots of people on the beach, hardly anyone swimming, but the guys loved the view ------------ one in particular that had only a very small bikini bottom on!! Tonight after dinner we drove into Big Pine Key to see the Pine Key deer at dusk. ... We were lucky enough to see four of them.Happy 2009 to everyone! The drive from Homestead to Big Pine Key was slow, but amazingly beautiful in spots. ...
