March 28th Today was our last full day in Florida. It's been a good 3 months. It deffinatly been warmer than Ohio. I do miss the winter but that's OK. We woke to cloudy conditions. We headed to the beach anyway. There Sally and I sat and fished and Kim layed trying to get a suntan eventhough there was no sun. It dod become sunny befor we had to leave. While fishing Sally and I each had one strike. The strike pulled our pole out of the holder and down the beach toward the water. We both were able to catch up and save our poles. When I...

March 26th Another mostly rainy day. We are sad it is raining so much while Kim is our guest. We woke in the morning, it was raining. We waited till 9:30 AM then drove to the library just outside the park entrance to download e-mails and post the blog for the last several days. Kim stayed in the RV and slept a little more. The library wasn't open but the WiFi was on so we did every thing while staying in the truck. We returned to our camp site. We watched TV a while then Sally and I took a walk to the marina where there were 7-8 Munzees....

March 25th Today was a travel day. After waking we stalled around for a while watching TV and eating some breakfast. Then the ladies cleaned the inside of the RV and put things in safe traveling moad and I put things away and stored things for travel moad on the outside. It was drizzling a little so I used the rain coat. The next stop is located near Pensacola, about 110 miles away. We started traveling around 10 o'clock. Soon after we started moving it began raining. Sally had to drive in rain and stop and go traffic all the way. We...

Today is our last full day in Florida. We started our day by going to the Naval Air Museum. They have many aircraft and the aircraft engines on display there. We have been to this museum before but it is quite interesting each time we go, as there is so much to see. When we returned to camp we took a exercise bike ride of about 7 miles. Later in the evening we went fishing one last time. We did manage to get a few nibbles from little fish but we didn't catch anything. It was very windy even though we were in a sheltered area. After we...

Today we Drove over to Prado Key. It is the barrier island that protects the Big Lagoon area. It has a very large white sand beach. Several folks were fishing but there were no swimmers or sun bathers. We found a large amount of Munzees there. We then returned to the campground and had a campfire' listened to the radio, and just relaxed.

A very windy day. We drove around the area seeing what we could see. We went to the National Park a few miles away trying to find a good place to fish. There is a very nice beach here. Most beaches in the panhandle of Florida are very nice. We did come back in the evening to fish but the incoming waves were quite rough and we caught nothing. Sitting there became cool and uncomfortable quickly.

Jul 2, 2012 - Big Lagoon State Park

Left Baton Rouge about 12pm and arrived at Big Lagoon State Park about 6pm. Tracey, Kelsey, and I set up the camper, and made a run to Wal-Mart for a few things. Woke up Tuesday morning and went to Perdido Key Beach. The water was green and the beach sand was not like Pensacola, so we drove over to Pensacola Beach for the day. After about 5 hours on the beach we decided to pack up and head back to the camper. We stopped at Peg Leg Pete's for my lobster Bday dinner. Kelsey would only allow me to have one "shipwreck". LOL. Lacey and Anastatia...

061508 – We packed up our soggy gear and hit the road at about 8AM. We had phone coverage around 10 am and tried to reach the boys mother and Nicole. Nicole had spent the previous day at the US Open at Torrey Pines and enjoying a comedy show in the evening while we were being eaten alive by mosquitoes in our soggy gear. I would take gators over golf any day……….but would pass on the mosquitoes. We stopped for lunch just outside of New Orleans and had crawfish, catfish, and red beans and rice. I wanted to make sure that the boys had these...

Mar 2, 2008 - Big Lagoon

Well we’re in Florida at Big Lagoon state park. We walked the board walk over the swamp and down to the beach and made a trip to Wal-Mart and the Laundromat. What a deal huh? I couldn’t think of anything else we did and asked J/Kat. It didn’t take her long to respond and I quote. “Well we found the first ‘latte stand’ we’ve seen in a thousand miles and went to the crappiest Laundromat ever!” That’s pretty much true so I’ll elaborate. We were looking to do the laundry, so when we noticed an ad on the park map we assumed it would be OK. Well...
