We are still traveling the 1 hour ride from camp to visit Dianne and Colin. We enjoy the ride looking at all the citrus groves along the way. Many of the citrus trees have lost their leaves, probably due to the recent cold weather. We were told that the ones that retained their leaves were sprayed with water before they were frosted. We took a ride today, down to Sarasota. There we went to the statue memorializing the end of WW2. We walked the marina at the Sarasota Bayfront. We ate at a nice franchised restruant called Pei Wei. Jan 16, 2011 - Alafia River State Park
Another favorite park. It's an equestrian park. We like staying in the horse sites. Alafia river state park When pressed about what is the best thing about the park neither one of us could come up with anything remarkable-except we have been there for two years in a row and hope to return as a month long volunteer next year. The park is new, clean, big sites. We stayed in the equestrian site side. Sleeping at night with the window open and that barnyard smell can't be beat. The park is known for it's bike trails. It feels remote but...
