Monday was another absolutely gorgeous day. After a lazy morning and an early lunch, we jumped into the car and drove about 10 miles down the road to Connecticut where we followed CT 169 from Woodstock to Canterbury. This beautiful scenic drive took us through Brooklyn where Israel Putnam, who is credited with saying “don’t fire until you see the whites of their eyes”, lived and is buried (he also apparently shot the last remaining she-wolf in the area), along hilly farm roads with neat houses, red barns and stone fences, and by two private...
