It was a beautiful day today so we decided to venture a little further out and check out the beaches in Connecticut. Our first stop was Silver Sands State Park, near Milford, Connecticut. What a beautiful park it is! This park has a lot of wonderful Board Walks. One went to the beach from the parking area but you can actually see everything without getting into sand or rock by using the boardwalks. Feb 14, 2014 - Happy Valentine's Day

After a short stay at home we’re headed to Massachusetts for some work and play. We’re leaving Winnie at home this trip because there are no campgrounds open near New Bedford where I’m working next week. We stuck to the NJ Turnpike, Garden State Parkway, and the interstates to avoid any tie ups due to snow and ice from the last 2 days. The roads on the way up were mostly clear and dry, but there was a lot of snow piled along the shoulders. We crossed both the Delaware and Hudson Rivers along the way and they are choked with ice. Oct 3, 2012 - travel day from HELL

OMG – I think this was one of the worst travel days we have ever had (it’s in the top five – Bob thinks #1). The New Jersey Turnpike was SHUT DOWN – everyone traveling North was exited at exit 4 and never allowed to get back on further along. Everyone traveling South was exited at ? exit 9. Initially we were detoured to an Interstate By-pass and THEN sent to Route 1 (2 lanes) through every town with a traffic light at every intersection with 5 million other cars and 2 million 18-wheelers!!!!!!
