Jul 23, 2011 - Few Last Thoughts on Connecticut

We had a wonderful month in Connecticut. We really like staying in an area for a longer period of time as it gives you the opportunity to get to know about the people and culture as well as be a tourist. You sought of become a part of the community! The lady at the service station recognized us when we came in.....we always had a nice chat while Tom filled the truck up with $4.07/gallon diesel. We spent the month at Aces High RV Park. This park has won many awards and is very nice. The sites are mostly pull thrus and are very level. Great...

Jul 17, 2011 - Wrapping Up Our Time in Connecticut

Wow what a week.....This has been a busy week as we continue to explore this area of our country. There is so much to do and see. We have been traveling for 7 years with the Airstream and this morning was the first time I have ever been nervous....that is my stomach tired up in knots. And I couldn't shake it. I think yesterday's travel was really nerve racking for both of us. But back on the road we did go. The roads were still awful in Pennsylvania but shortly we crossed the state line into New Jersey and wow what a change in roads. We continued to have...

Jun 26, 2008 - Good Parkway / Bad Parkway

Crossing the Hudson - Thursday, June 26 Getting out of Dodge may not be hard, but getting out of Jersey City is something else again. Since gas is half a dollar cheaper in Jersey we decided to top off before heading for New York and Connecticut. We found a station not far from Liberty Harbor, but following the station attendant’s directions to the freeway took us on a three mile wander through an old industrial area that got us lost and dependant on Lucy to get us out. She did, but not knowing we are sort of a truck she kept sending us...
