Oh, man, what a day to forget my camera. There were several great views to the east today--the best views we’ve had in a long time--and I forgot the camera. The good views were partly due to the lower temperatures and humidity which reduced the amount of haze in the atmosphere. It wasn’t completely clear, but a whole lot better than it’s been. The views were of the river valley below, but it’s a narrow valley. The view also included the mountain ridges on the other side of the valley. Very nice indeed. Gene dropped me off in Kent this...

Aug 7, 2009 - Ice Cream, Hot Dogs & Pizza

Hello everyone! I do apologize for not writing since Harper's Ferry, WV, but it has been hard finding a computer to use through the last few states. Yes, I am still on the Trail! In fact, I just arrived in Kent, Connecticut yesterday. So, since my last blog, I have hiked through West Virginia, Maryland, Pennysylvania, New Jersey & New York. West Virginia and Maryland were very short and a breeze to walk through, but then there was Pennysylvania....the rumors of the rocks were true. I will never, I repeat...NEVER hike through that state...

Jul 25, 2008 - Litchfield, CT

Friday we woke to spectacular weather – sunny and as blue of a sky as one can have in the northeast (there really is no comparison to the clear blue skies of Colorado or Arizona, but this was close). We had wisely chosen to wait until today to take our road trip through the Litchfield Hills. Jan 13, 2007 - Headed to Kent, CT

Made our way to Kent, CT to see Ben play basketball. Jenn's dad and sisters Maggie and Anna made the trip as well, so it was a nice 'family' affair. It was a short trip as we had to get on the road Sunday night to make our way to Virginia to see Jack play.
