We headed a short drive to Essex, CT to take The Valley Railroad Company steam train ride and river boat trip. Its a short drive from our campground to Essex....but we barely made it....arriving shortly before the train departed. Jun 28, 2011 - From Pocomoke City to Essex, CT: A Full Measure of Metro Driving

Today is Kathy's Birthday. Dennis, Mary and I feel her absence deeply. We hope she is with us today. I left Pocomoke St Park in a good frame of mind, not knowing how long a day it would turn out to be. The park really looked good in the light of day. It was clean, no bugs, extremely quiet and the camp sites were gravel based and level. The trees, large and small were very beautiful, tall (80ft), straight,and stately pines but the place was very isolated and slightly creepy in that regard. Sep 20, 2008 - We're riding the train and taking the boat in Essex

Today, we just had to get in the car and go again. There just isn't any stopping us as we feel we need to get as much sight seeing done as possible. We've decided to do The Essex Steam Train and Riverboat. This being the only steam train and riverboat connection in the country. Our journey begins in the historic 1892 Essex Station. We boarded the train and sat in vintage rail cars pulled by an authentic steam locomotive.
