The day was really dreary and cool, could not see the tops of the mountains from the RV park and just was not a day we wanted to go to downtown Hartford. In the afternoon it stopped raining long enough for us to drive to Bristol and see the Clock and Watch museum. It is located in a 1728 building and then was added onto extensively. There are walls and walls of clocks. The docent gave us a tour pointing out the workings of the Howard 1895 clock that must be wound by hand and involves climbing on ladders as the weight is very heavy. The...

2018 Trip

Oct 7, 2018 - Lake compounce

We had a good drive and met lots of traffic around Boston where interstate branches off toward New York. Heavy even on a Sunday. This park has W&E only but is well laid out, have a large site that is level with satellite reception. An Eagle from North Carolina is across from us - has FMCA decals on his coach and was not too friendly. Another couple with a 2011 Tradition is new to RVing and lives in Ft. Myers. We will have more conversation with them and they are new ACA members. RV park has many RV’s in it and is a good location even though...

2018 Trip

May 25, 2015 - Overnight at the Home of ESPN

Despite the fact that the general direction for today’s travel was east, we first headed southwest back toward Scranton and I-84. For the second day in a row we found ourselves singing Harry Chapin’s great song, 30,000 Pounds of Bananas. As we turned east on I-84 our 200-mile leg today was slowed considerably by a major Memorial Day construction area backup as we approached the New York border.
