Sep 29, 2020 - Ute Trail

Winter Park, CO Sadly, it was time to say goodbye to Estes Park and move on. We were transferring down the road to Winter Park, only 2 1/2 hours away for most people. It took us the entire day. The trail from the Alpine Visitor Center to Miner Pass near Poudre Lake has an elevation change of 1,315’ Fortunately we started from the top (11,796’) and went down. Jan 14, 2010 - Tubing the Frazer Hill

Thursday, Jan 14th Just north of Winter Park is the town of Frazer. Frazer has a hill just outside of town that has a Tubing operation set up. You get a truck tube wrapped in a canvas & vinyl cover for a specified amount of time and you ride it down the hill as many times as you can. The hill is very steep and the ride is fast and totally out of control. To get back up you drag the tube over to the side of the hill where a cable & hook rig will tow you back up the hill. This is a whole lot of cheap fun!

We found the Destinations West web site while looking for lodging possibilities. This was a very user friendly site with actual pictures...
