May 30, 2008 - day 48 to wellington colo camp

day 48 was a travel day stopped at kimbel, neb and cheyenne wyo, (a starbucks there) then on to a small town, wellington, colo., to a nice koa at the base of rocky mtn, NP - our routes today were rt71s - i-80w - i-25s. we fell asleep after dinner and missed a great sunset, just got the tailend of one... Jun 29, 2007 - Goodbye Yellowstone, Hello Colorado

Wednesday through Friday, June 27-29, 2007 Wednesday all 6 of us ventured into the woods with the help of a park ranger. We traveled 2.5 miles over almost 3 hours with frequent stops to examine scat otherwise known as "animal poop" to determine who had passed (ha, ha) before us. Kind of scary when we came across our third "pile" of bear scat. We were treated to a sighting of a skiddish, long tailed weasel - quick, ferret-like creature. The ranger had never seen one in the wild. I thought it was very strange looking. We hiked beside buffalo...
