We left our Montana in California in the campground, locked it up and headed for Silverthorne, CO for our son Michael's rewedding, this one with the wedding dress and reception, the first one was a quickie between michael serving in the wars first in Iraq then in Afghanistan. The first day we drove to Provo, UT where we had a reservation with Marriott for the night in a pet friendly hotel and drove on in to the rental home we rented in the mountains of Silverthorne the next day. Jul 2, 2012 - Lots of Driving Yesterday

We logged over 540 miles yesterday. Since our car was acting normally, we decided to drive into Arches National Park in Utah as John had never been there. It has such dramatic red rock formations and is quite awesome to see. Utah is blessed with such a variety of rock formations - different colors, shapes, and sizes. Hundreds and hundreds of miles of them. Traveling on I-70, all of them make for an interesting and beautiful trip. As we got into Colorado, the scenery did not change that much at first. Aug 27, 2011 - Jour 3

Bonjour Québec, Aujourd'hui nous avons roulé 1400 km. Belle journée, rien de particulier à signaler à part le décalage horaire de 2 heures qui nous mêle un peu. Ce soir, nous dormons à Silverthorne dans les Rocky Mountains. Nous avons parcouru une partie de la route (Interstate 70) qui les traverse. C'est hallucinant!! comme c'est beau et grandiose. Nous avons filmé, mais ne pouvons les loader sur ce site, car les vidéos sont trop gros. à suivre. Nous sommes maintenant rendu à 400 km de notre première destination (Moab) que nous atteindrons...

Road Trip USA 2011

Sep 30, 2008 - Summit County- Colorado

It was great spending a few days relaxing at the Koenings in Silverthorne and visiting with Mike and Betty, Pat and Dale, and Jan and Randy. We always enjoy hanging out with our friends there who always make us feel at home. The kids enjoyed archery; They seem to like shooting at deer mannequins more than targets for some reason. We did manage to spot some wildlife (Mountain Goats) while driving through Boreas pass, not to mention eating dinner with a bunch of other wildlife one night.
