May 30, 2013 - Junction Creek RV Park

We are staying in the San Juan National Forest at Junction Creek near Durango. It is only about six miles from Durango, but the drive to the park was a very scary one for me. June 10-08 Sent We have arrived at West Dolores Camp grounds in the San Juan National Forest, Co. It is so pretty, we have a creek beside our site and are surrounded by beautiful mountain pine. It’s a small camp ground, $17. Per night with electric only. Most every night we visit with friends around the camp fire. Things you don’t take time to do when you are home. We are primitive camping!!! We have NO television or phone service, we drive to town to check in with family and friends. The drive is great; the river runs along beside the...

DREAM OF A LIFETIME

Jun 14, 2008 - Haviland Lake

We are staying in the San Juan Forest Colorado. What a beautiful state, the lower altitudes or valleys are sunny and warm. (For all our Fl. Friends warm is 65 degrees) The mountains are covered in snow and most of the time it is about 10 degrees colder. Havilland Lake Campgrounds is a great place to stay. It has a spring fed lake for fishing, trails, horse back riding or just stroll threw the park and enjoy the view. Some of the roads to the camp sites are rather small. We are driving large rigs and you take a real good look at the sign...
