Aug 8, 2008 - Rafting today! Glenwood Springs to Rifle Gap

Savanna: TODAY WAS THE BEST!!! We had an awesome time rafting. John, our amazing tour guide, was so funny. In the beginning, there were a few good rapids, then it was calm for awhile. We all jumped in the water, or slid in, and John did a backflip. After a while we had a BBQ for lunch. After that, Cory and Teagan were in a kayak, and me and Sophie were in innertubes, and we got seperated a few times. Then I got stuck and made everyone wait for me, haha. Then the biggest rapid came up. Teagan fell in and I guess it was funny but I didn't see...

Apr 3, 2006 - Clayton, NM to Silt, CO

Today we left Clayton, NM and ended our journey in Silt, CO. We traveled on US 87 up to Raton, NM and then got onto I-25 and went into Colorado. We went up to Denver and then got onto I-70 and went thru the mountains into Silt, CO. I really liked the portion of New Mexico we went thru, there wasn't a lot of development and vacant land was everywhere we looked. There were pronghorns on the ranches and we went by a volcano in Capulin, NM. We did not stop so maybe when we come back this way we might stop. In traveling I-70 after we left...

VJ really enjoyed being with the girls. I've been listless due to the altitude. After an hour in the hot tub, he barely moved at all. This afternoon, we bid goodbye to Doug and his family and we went over the Vail Pass (10,662 ft) and then descended down into the valley following the Colorado River. We were amazed at the height of the canyon walls. There were cliffs on...
