We are visiting the little laid-back mountain town of Rico today. The summertime population is 500, with only 200 in the winter. :-) I was actually searching for information about Lizard Pass when I read about Rico. I knew I had to visit after reading about it online. I even saw a video on Youtube showing it covered with snow. They have over 60 miles of snowmobiling trails in the area. Jul 7, 2010 - Cayton State Park, Colorado

Greetings from beautiful Cayton State Park in Colorado. As you probably recall, we left Durango earlier than scheduled after discovering this beautiful state park on our return trip along the San Juan Scenic By-Way on our way back to Durango for that horrible drive through Ouray earlier in the month. We were pretty excited about staying in this park because it was off the beaten path, not planned and a gorgeous setting discovered as a fluke when trying to find a nice place to have a picnic lunch while exploring this part of Colorado. Hi Everyone: We're in Mesa Verde right now and just like Devil's Tower last year, I'm sitting in a lodge nearby our campsite to send out this one Update. This interent signal is weak and our air card does not receive....its taking forever. We also have no cell phone service in the park but MJ has her satellite TV. Our four days at Montrose have come to an end. Before we cross the San Juans for the last time we got an oil change and fluids check for the motorhome.
