We finally found Bellaire Campground. It was a early on a Thursday so the campground was relatively empty. We picked a nice spot at top of the highest point in the park. It turns out that this campground and most other Colorado State parks campgrounds were closing the following Sunday, the fall/winter equinox. On Friday a lot of local campers arrived and filled the park to enjoy the last weekend. We were lucky to have secured our spot early. The park was nice. It had a nice lake that wasn't very large. Aug 24, 2008 - More Colorado Beauty

On August 24, we joined Jim and Sally at Dowdy Lake Campground, near Red Feather Lakes, Colorado. We stayed there 5 nights and had a great time. Fishing was decent. We caught enough fish on 3 occasions to have fish for dinner. We spent a lot of time just relaxing, reading, playing dominos. As is usual in the Colorado mountains, chipmunks were everywhere.
