Sep 5, 2017 - Grand Mesa Natl Forest

After all our traveling from Oregon and the heat, we decided to head back up to Grand Mesa where the elevation is over 10,000 ft. We went back to Little Bear cg which overlooks Island Lake. We managed to get the same campsite which we think is the prettiest in the park. Since labor day weekend was coming up, we figured we might as well stay in the best area and hike and use the atv. So we're here until about the 7th.

Jul 9, 2017 - Little Bear campground

We've been up here since Wed and have hiked, caught rainbow trout, and rode the atv through some amazingly beautiful aspen groves and fields of wildflowers over the past 4 days. There's no cell service up here so we stopped at a high vista in order to catch up. Had to go to Grand junction yesterday as the water pump started leaking and it had to be fixed. On towards steamboat springs tomorrow!

May 21, 2011 - Grand Mesa, Colorado

Before going to bed last night we realized the floor in front of our shower was wet. While we were at Wendy's indulging in their chili last night there was a hard driving downpour. The bathroom vent was open and even with a cover the driving rain managed to make it's way into the bathroom. We haven't used the RV shower (the RV parks have showers) and the floor was dry around the toilet so lets hope that was the cause. We woke up to SUNSHINE! We decided take a drive and explore Grand Mesa National Forest. Elevation is over 10000 feet and it...
