Oct 8, 2009 - It's so good to be "On the road again"!

So, it's Tuesday morning the 6th of October 2009 and we are itching to drive on down the road. It is also 29 degrees with a promise of a high of 34. It's a little crunchy out there. Some of the snow melted during the day on Monday. Monday night it got really cold and froze everything solid. J.C. spent quite a bit of time chipping snow off the top of the slides so we could bring them in. Oct 10, 2007 - Near Colorado Springs, CO, for a couple of nights

Because we were only driving a little over 200 miles today and were gaining an hour on our way west, we slept in a bit and left Kansas at a more civilized hour. We stopped at the Colonial Steakhouse at the park entrance and Gordon wolfed down some great biscuits and gravy...just like Mom used to make!! We had a very uneventful drive to the west with a slight tailwind pushing us along I-70 and then along US 24 once in Colorado. Arriving at our next destination at about noon, we set up camp at the Falcon Meadow RV Campground about 15 miles...
