Mar 2, 2014 - Englewood, CO

Leaving Estes Park today and the driving conditions are not the best. Icy roads, freezing fog, freezing rain....although it turned out the weather wasn't really the problem, the idiots who don't know how to drive are! It was snowing and the drive was actually quite beautiful. As we got into Denver, the weather began to clear up quite nicely, however a big chunk of the freeway was closed due to a big accident. We did manage to bypass that and decided to go get some lunch before heading over to our hotel. We found a little place in Englewood...

Jun 24, 2013 - ON OUR WAY HOME

Sunday- Yesterday we spent the afternoon with friends it was their son’s Graduation party, we had met them over 5.5 years ago while we were parked in Crescent City in California and although we have met up a few times since then it was quite a few years ago, so was lovely to catch up with the whole family and meet new friends as well. Mostly packing and cleaning today and must have weighed the cases at least 10 times as they are overweight and trying to juggle what must go home. We are flying back home with Air Canada and not sure how...

Wandering America

Jun 21, 2013 - Englewood/Denver

Tuesday had a 62 mile drive to Englewood which is just outside Denver, once we had parked up & unpacked then headed out to check the storage out for the RV & Car. On arrival at the storage place they had booked us into a 41ft site for both vehicles, well the RV is 41ft so there was no way that was going to work!!! Luckily in the end they found us 2 sites back to back over 60ft long. I had problems finding storage as it was so many places I phoned were fully booked. That’s why we always check it out days before we are due to fly...

Wandering America

Jun 8, 2009 - Englewood, CO

June 8, 2009 – June 15, 2009 We really love this area of the country. It is so beautiful with the mountains constantly in view. We like Englewood, which is a suburb of Denver, for its beauty, the access to surfaced bike trails everywhere and its constantly improved or added areas for outdoor activity. We woke up our first morning to discover temperatures in the low 50’s. Wow! What a change. The temperatures average in the low 70’s during the day, which was great for our adventures, and the nights were great for sleeping. Many days we took...

Jul 4, 2008 - Right in the middle of it all!

Because St. Vrain was full for the 4th of July weekend, and to be closer to the office, we moved to Southpark Mobile Home Community/RV Park on the 4th for a month. It is about one of the nicest parks we have stayed in. It's an adult community and is very quiet, despite being right off of Hampden and Federal in Englewood, Colorado. One of the many bike paths in the Denver metro area runs right by the park. There was plenty for Jim to do while Chris continued her temporary assignment at Sedgwick. The park has a swimming pool and a club house...

May 21, 2008 - Final Thoughts

“No one realizes how beautiful it is to travel until he comes home and rests his head on his old, familiar pillow” (Lin Yutang). I never knew the pure and simple concept of travelling. I always thought that it meant seeing sights that you can check off your list for the trivial and superficial reasoning of checking it off. I never knew the limitless beauty that exists with every new sight we see and every step we take into the unknown world of a different country and culture. I never knew that you could see yourself in the eyes of an...
