Jun 29, 2018 - Having a great time at home in Centennial!!
Sorry to be absent for a few days!! Our trip to our townhouse was part of our plan to stop and unload all the winter gear we would no longer be using once we get over our last mountain pass, Hoosier Pass at 11,600 ft. We have been so blessed to be spending time with wonderful family and amazing friends! We rented a car to get ourselves to Denver, even tho we had so many generous offers to drive us down and drive us back! We left our bikes with my friend Bela, drove down to the townhouse for a few days. Actually, it felt very naughty and I...Jump to full entry
Apr 24, 2018 - Ready for the next leg of the Journey to Oregon!
Here we are on another eve of another leg of our journey!! We have been in our cozy little townhouse for a week enjoying family, friends and high altitude living! Arrived in spring weather, reverted back to a bit of winter snow, climbed back up to spring temps, enjoyed brilliant Colorado blue sky days and then today, on the eve of heading west we watched beautiful soft fluffy snow float down all day! As we pack all the possessions we will be living with for the next 5 months into 4 little pannier bags, ready to start an epic bicycle...Jump to full entry

Oct 19, 2011 - Big changes in trip plans!
Yesterday, October 18, I (Marilyn) found out that I have Intraductal Carcinoma in my right breast, Grade 3 (meaning "more aggressive"). I accidentally discovered a large lump while undressing last Thursday night and the medical system has worked beautifully to get me through the process of: 1) seeing a gynocologist who sent me immediately to get 2) mammogram and ultrasound; 3) breast biopsy on Monday with an immediate referral to get an 4) MRI of both breasts. I don't have the final results of the breast biopsy re: receptors nor the...Jump to full entry
Apr 25, 2011 - Wrestling the shoebox
Location: Moab, UT We left our home in Centennial, CO on Easter Sunday. The local weather guessers had predicted 10-20" of snowfall on the I-70 corridor, which was precisely our route getting from Denver to Moab... fortunately for us, the forecast was somewhat less than precise... seems 90% of the moisture had taken a southerly track and left I-70 'wet' in some spots... no ice, no snow, no slush. I like to think this was due to our 'reverse VooDoo' practice of purchasing a set of tire chains for the BaB before we left... if'n ya got 'em......Jump to full entry
Apr 17, 2011 - Spring in Moab, 2011
The end is near... the end of April, that is... time once again for the annual Ural pilgrimage to Moab, Utah. Taking place on or about April 23rd - 30th. Having stayed at various campgrounds and hotels in the past, and having found most of them 'wanting', we finally bit the bullet - pulled the trigger - took the plunge and bought our own portable 'cabin'. This year, we decided to bring along our own 'cabin' -- affectionately known to it's current residents as "The BaB" (Bed and Breakfast). This is our first extended foray in our new RV......Jump to full entry
Aug 8, 2009 - day 20
Colorado took care of the wind. We were not far into the state when the wind died down and eventually stopped--yay! Met Nan and Phil and Eileen (Lane's niece, her husband, and Nan and Phil's daughter) plus Eileen's baby, Zachary. We are planning on going to Bailey, Co. tomorrow to meet up with Kevin and fam and group, (where they are working unassigned territory) and attend their meeting at 10 am, and a picnic after. Should be a fun day. See you tomorrow, the 3 happy wanderers.Jump to full entry
May 10, 2008 - Brother Dave's - Centennial, CO
After leaving Memphis, we crossed through Jackson, MO, Paxico, KS (Millcreek Campground was really cute...although situated between the highway and the traintracks and beside a lazy river...it was surprisingly quiet and was just off "downtown" Paxico..with numerous out buildings with outside signs and memorabilia all around) We finally made it to the Denver area and reached Jim's brother's(Dave & Janelle) home in Centennial, CO about mid-day. We parked the RV in their driveway and made it a little tight when they tried to get out of their...Jump to full entry
