Sep 12, 2007 - Canon City, Colorado--Raft and Rail trip

Carla here—this morning we got up early and drove an hour and a half to Canon City to go whitewater rafting on the Arkansas River. This particular outfitter has a trip in which you raft in the morning (about 9 miles), they feed you lunch, you change into dry clothes and after lunch you ride the Royal Gorge train back to Canon City. At Canon City they meet you at the train station and take you back to there offices to pick-up your car. The six pictures of us rafting were taken by the outfitters. The rafting was fun and wet. If we were to do...

Sep 6, 2007 - Canon City, Colorado

Look - I got to go on a train ride. This train took us through a deep narrow canyon. It was so narrow that they had to build a bridge on the side of the mountain above the river to get through. Then ....when I looked up there was a suspension bridge way up high across the gorge that people could walk on. Yikes .. we did not do that. I took a picture of Mr. and Mrs. Richards for you.

Notable prisoners who have resided in the Super Max are Unabomber Theodore Kaczynski, Ramzi Yousef, mastermind of the Wold Trade Center bombing and Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh. Needless...

Jul 2, 2007 - Royal Gorge railway trip

Today we went to Canon City CO and took a 2 hour train ride through the canyon and along the Arkansas river. The Arkansas river is said to be the number one rafting destination in the United States. They can raft on it for over 200 miles. We had lunch on the train while enjoying the scenery. The kayakers and rafters seemed to enjoy the adventure. We only seen one raft with 2 people over board; the raft was frantically trying to catch up with them to get them on board. Also notice the canyon carving helicopter. Deb seen him coming up river...
