We are in Denver area visiting with friends. A great time to see our friends daughter and and her 8 month old daughter. Interesting that we come to Colorado to see our friends from east Texas. Our trip plan is being stressed. We have a plan that hits the places we want to go, but we do not like to make reservations since we want flexibility in our plans. We had planned to go to Yellowstone, but there is no campground availability until mid-August. Oh well - we will have to adjust. State parks in the mountains of Wyoming and Montana - we...

Sep 7, 2013 - Berry Patch Day

Layten spent Fri. night with us in the rig. We took him to the Berry Patch Saturday morning. It is an organic farm and opens three days a week for the community to pick strawberries and raspberries. They grow onions, tomatoes, squashes, melons, peppers and potatoes. I think Layten enjoyed watching the roosters the most. Danny purchased some fire roasted peppers to try cooking with.

Oct 1, 2008 - Colorado

We just spent about a week at the Jackson Lake State Park in Colorado. It's a beautiful arid area on the plains fairly close to the Nebraska border. The coyotes sang us to sleep every night and a pair of great horned owls entertained us a dusk. Some type of "mayfly" has been a real nasty pest. At dusk the high grass hums with clouds of them and they are attracted to light. After the first couple of nights we outsmarted them by shutting all the windows and doors and turning out the light when we wished to exit or enter the trailer. Oh, the...
