Apr 23, 2011 - Saturday April 16-Friday April 22

Saturday April 16- We slept in today, Bob cooked a nice breakfast, after, we ran down to the Walmart and Safeway in Frisco. We had to use our $10 free grocery coupon at Safeway as it was expiring today. Not a hard thing to do! We had left over Chinese from PF Chang’s for lunch, paid bills, and went back to Frisco for the Square Dance Plus Workshop from 3-5, except we had to leave by 4:30 to place our side dish casserole contribution in the oven. Brian and Kathy picked us up at 5:40 to take us to the GSA farewell pot luck dinner which was...

Apr 17, 2011 - Saturday April 9 to Friday April 15 Breck & Denver

Saturday April 9- This is our 23rd wedding anniversary! We paid bills and I went over to the clubhouse to have my hair cut. There is a lady, Linda, here in the park who arrived in January and is leaving the end of April who is a licensed hair dresser. She cuts hair for $20. She did a really great job! I washed Bob’s uniform, in the motor home, as he has completed his GSA days. Since the jacket and windbreaker are waterproof, they seemed to have kept the water in the spin cycle, so we ended up hanging them in the shower to dry. We had a...

Apr 9, 2011 - Saturday April 2 to Friday April 8

Saturday April 2- We woke up to bright blue skies, temps in the high 50’s, low 60’s today. Do I need to tell you we opened the windows and aired out the motor home. Actually, I have done this several times when the temps hit the 50’s. We cruised around with the sunroof open! We paid bills, ate lunch, took a short nap and went to Frisco so Bob could pick up a prescription at Walmart and some books at the book sale. I was glad that I had gone yesterday, as I was able to pick up some books I had wanted. Since it was after 3 PM, and the sale...

Saturday March 26- Snowmass/Breckenridge- We finished packing up and called down to the office for the guys to come pick up our luggage. Bob packed the car and we waited with everyone for the bus to arrive. Here is a picture of Dawn Brown our trip leader. This is a picture of people waiting in the garage area for the bus. Finally, a picture of our ski group. We had noted yesterday, when we went to Aspen, that there were a lot of disabled Vets vans riding around. Starting tomorrow, Snowmass is having their 25th injured Veterans week....

Mar 19, 2011 - Saturday March 12-Friday March 18

Saturday March 12- Both of us have a productive cough. This cold business has been going on since January 19th. Neither of us feels great, but neither of us feel all that bad either. We paid bills this morning. I was supposed to go to Mahjong at 1 pm, but took a long nap instead. It was barbecue night at the Club House, so we went over and Bob threw a steak on the grill. We had a nice dinner with Wayne and Margie plus Jeannie and David. Jeannie is one of the gals who is teaching the Mahjong. Margie had managed to win 2 games this afternoon!...

Saturday March 5- We slept in this morning, although we still woke up early! Paid bills and prepared to head down to Denver to take Frank to the airport. We stopped at AppleJacks again, then the carwash, and Joanne’s for a new zipper for my Columbia jacket. Frank treated us to lunch at Las Delicious, thank you Frank! We dropped Frank off at the airport. It was so nice to have him with us for a week and that week really flew by. We stopped at Walmart on the way back to buy Bob a new bathing suit. He has lost so much weight that he needed a...

Mar 4, 2011 - Saturday February 26- Friday March 4

Saturday Feb 26- We were up early and headed down to Denver. It was snowing pretty hard but the roads were not too bad. Our first stop was at a Honda dealership. Bob had taken the CRV for routine service. In addition to an oil change and tire rotation, we needed the rear differential fluid changed and the local Grease Monkey (it’s a local Jiffy Lube type place) did not have the correct fluid. Turns out you have to buy it at a Honda dealership. So we stopped and purchased some, as well as some new windshield wiper blades. Then we were off to...

Saturday Feb. 20- I still did not feel well and Bob seems to be having a relapse so we spent a very quiet day. Yes, we are washing everything in very hot water, using Clorox on everything that we possibly can, we even put a piece of cardboard between our pillows in bed and we are generally trying not to infect each other! Sunday Feb. 21- My GSA day. I felt okay, not great, but okay, so I went to work. I had top of the gondola duty in the morning and it was colder there than I had anticipated. Went inside at one point and warmed up. I...

Feb 19, 2011 - Saturday February 5- Friday February 18

Saturday Feb 5- We worked on taxes and bills until lunch. Bob used the snow blower to get rid of some of the snow. It is still snowing today! We went to the afternoon Plus Square Dance workshop. Frisco had only plowed one run down the streets, so parking was not fun! The snow was up over our boots and onto our pants. The caller was stuck in traffic on I-70 trying to drive the Frisco, so the back-up caller, who is the President of the Timberline Toppers, and teaches the beginning square dance class, called. He was not very good, so between...

Feb 15, 2011 - Saturday January 29- Friday Februay 4

Saturday Jan 29- I was still not feeling well, so we stayed in today and skipped the Square Dance in the evening. In the afternoon we went downtown for a short time to see the International Snow Sculpture exhibit. Teams from around the world come to Breckenridge to enter this contest. The town has been preparing for this for at least a week. They had been taking the excess snow, and we have a lot of that, and putting it into huge blocks. Then volunteers use their feet to stomp down the snow, kind of like Lucy stomping the grapes! The...

Feb 15, 2011 - Monday Jan. 24- Friday Jan. 28

Monday Jan 24-Wednesday Jan 26.- I finally came down with Bob’s cold. At least I made it through my GSA day yesterday. We spent 3 days just being sick. Thursday Jan 27- We had volunteered to be hosts at the Loosey Goosey this afternoon. We received emails where several other people had cancelled, so we decided that we had to go. Being a Host just means setting up/taking down the tables, making sure there are enough plates and utensils for the pot luck wine and cheese; monitoring that the water pitchers remain filled. So it was pretty easy....

Jan 24, 2011 - Wednesday Jan 12-Sunday Jan 23

Wednesday 1/5/11- Laundry day again; it seems to roll around much too quickly. Bob spent most of the day working on trying to dump. Our knobs and pipes had frozen. He usually dumps on Sundays, but it has been too cold. It warmed up into the 20’s today so he thought he better get it done. He used our little heater to defrost the tubing, and then we went to the Ace Hardware in Silverthorne and bought a heat coil to go around the tubing. His theory is that the warm water tubing and this tubing both froze due to a change in the direction of the...
