Jun 13, 2012 - Brook's Mountain Retreat

Wonderful to be up in the mountains and the cooler weather...Denver recorded 5 straight days of 100-105 degrees and the worst fires in the history of the state occurred this month in Colorado...as of 6.28...347 homes lost in the Waldo fire in Colorado Springs and 247 lost NW of Ft Collins in the High Peak fires. Horrible for so very many families and the entire state...definitely history in the making this year ....

Aug 9, 2009 - day 21

I am having an issue with memory for some reason, so cannot label the photos completely. Will try to find out why, but in the meantime hope I can get this update to you. It was truly an exciting day. We went to the Kingdom Hall in Bailey, Co., a nountain community at 9000'. It was bautiful, as you can see in the photos. We met up with Kevin and his group, working the unassigned territory, and their group from West Covina Carlton, and from Fresno, consisted of 30 people. Ken Currens gave the talk, and we were able to see the brothers. After...

Jun 26, 2008 - Mason's Trip - Part 8 - OH NO!

Monday, Jun 23 to Wednesday, Jun 25, 2008 Monday Since we didn’t leave Rockey River until noon and then took the long, slow route in order to bypass Monarch Pass, I guess it’s best we skip the Gorge. Drew wants to get to Casper tomorrow so he can spend his birthday with “Brother” Bill. At 5:30 PM, about 50+ miles SW of Denver, somewhere up in the mountains, a car pulled up next to us and someone shouted that we’d lost a wheel on the trailer. Drew pulled over, got out to check, and ... OH, NO! We‘ve blown another wheel bearing, and this...

Sep 30, 2007 - One Eyed Jack

Linda and Riley live in Bailey, CO. CW drove us to their house and we went to Brunch at a restaurant in town. It was a fancy place and we all ate a big lunch. Mom and I split a steak. It was really good. Then we went to a neighbors house to ride their horse. The horse was a fiord, or something like that. One Eyed Jack was very gentle. Kennedy rode first, then me. We rode around for a while, then we went back to Linda and Riley's for a while. Kennedy and I discovered that you can write on windows with dry erase markers and the ink will come...
