Dec 22, 2009 - Where you celebrate this Christmass, Aspen or another places
Last Year, I went to Aspen city for vacation of Christmas and took the best adventure to there along with Skiing and Christmas fun. Nevertheless, this winter couldn’t complete due to more rush to there. I forgot that we go to Aspen city, so we couldn’t take any reservation to there two or three month before. When I searched then found not empty any resorts or inn to Aspen city. Thus, we didn’t try again because we knew that if any place, didn’t room available then we don’t go there. But when we went to Last year then those days we...

Oct 24, 2009 - "Maroon Bells"...Aspen, Colorado
Oct. 15th, 2009. A relaxing day started for me at the Glenwood Springs Vapor Caves. Not able to take photos in these vapor caves, I thought I'd try adding the web link if you would like to check them out; wwwyampahspa.com. Originally used for many years by the Indians, then discovered by the white man in the late 1880's. The caves are natural underground rock formations with small streams running throughout. The waters are untouchable, but the steam produced create the vapor in the caves with temps between 110-112 degrees. They've been one...

Aug 21, 2009 - Independence Pass
This morning we set off for Aspen via Independence Pass (Colorado 82). The pass is narrow, steep, and trecherous. It is closed in the winter, as it is too difficult to maintain. Vehicles over 34 feet are prohibited from using the pass. (You will see pics of someone who can't read) The trip started out smoothly enough. The eastern portion of the pass that curves around Twin Lakes is calm enough that John was very relaxed. He understood that the way would get steeper, but he promised to take pics for me since I would be driving. Soon, the...

Jul 8, 2009 - Our Drive to Aspen
I have a friend (Holly - also a traveling L&D nurse) that I met during my assignment in Maine. She recently accepted an assignment in Aspen, Colorado. Since I had a couple of days off Willie and I agreed yesterday would be a perfect day to drive over to explore Aspen, see Holly, and visit the John Denver Memorial Park. The drive to Aspen on I-70 from Frisco is amazingly beautiful! As we entered Glenwood Canyon my jaw dropped. The locals call tourists in this area “gapers” because we are constantly “gaping at the scenery” but how can one not...

May 19, 2009 - Aspen Colorado
We are visiting the Aspen Pharmacy that sells our products. Had some time to meet some locals and hangout Aspen style. The weather was cool and clear. Most of the snow is gone in an unusually warm spring. We actually stayed in Glenwood Springs just off of I 70. This is the site of the famous sulphur springs that run at 104 degrees F. Our spot for the Grizzly was 100 yards from class 4 rapids on the Colorado river. Would have been a nice place to veg if not for the need for us to get to Indiana where the Grizz will get some work done. We...

Mar 9, 2009 - Aspen!
03h00 alarm sounds and Cath and I jump out of bed to catch the 03h30 train to the airport and our flight to Aspen via Denver! On the train we sat next to the back end of Friday night's party and it was pretty amusing to watch the 'wildebeesting' (heads rolling when trying to fall asleep while seated) going on around us. An uneventful flight over the Mighty Rocky Mountains and into Aspen where we met up with Kimbo and Jason and headed straight for breakfast at a place called the Wienerstube. While enjoying a late breakfast we debated whether...

Jul 25, 2008 - Aspen, CO
We went to the dinosaur museum which is one of the best museums we have ever seen. There are amazing things there and we all loved it. What a great little city it is too. After talking to a somewhat “loco” local woman Bill was convinced that we should do our own independent dig from the directions she gave him. So he took the camper off road…as if this vehicle hasn’t been through enough! He and the kids didn’t find anything they were interested in keeping but they did have a great time and the views were very pretty. We flipped a coin and...

Nov 1, 2007 - Aspen - Just like a soap opera...
The news this morning tells us that Aspen is 22 degrees. I put on my warm clothes. We head out, but not before Marty returns a call to a woman who is asking if he will give the keynote speech at a retail convention in March. That's two speeches he's been invited to give in two days! She asks him what his speech rate is, and having never charged for a speech before, he says he'll have to think about it. Marty loves to give speeches, and even though this is our vacation, it's a very nice call to receive. The venture capital company can't...

May 14, 2007 - Aspen
Sunday 13th May 2007 Neil goes for a short run along the bike track, completes his exercise regime ,which consists of some abs on the floor and a strenuous set of arm exercises using the very heavy 'load equalising' bars for the car and trailer - then breakfast - before we head off for Aspen! Now, I'd expected Aspen to be really special - but it's not - nice enough - but not in a spectacular setting - the shops are expensive - fair enough - the property varies from the costly to the astronomical (one house we looked at cost $10.5 Million,...

Sep 6, 2006 - Leadville, CO
Leadville, CO We arrived at Sugar Loafin Campground, Leadville, CO (10,046' elevation) around 2:30 pm local time. Our first impression was "glad we are staying only 3 nights." The rate, even with the discount, was rather expensive for the condition of the park and the services offered. The campground is small and very rustic. We had a very narrow pull-thru with full hook-up, 30 amp service, but no wifi, no shade, nor TV. Our only entertainment in the RV was our XM radio - thank God we have that. Although it is advertised as no side-by-side...

Jan 29, 2006 - Aspen - Part 2
Well the snow continues to fall and the boarding is still great. The powder is magnificant and my front side 360 jump is sensational and that only when I fall over!!! Myself and Sean are partaking heavily in the Apres Ski...the good / bad thing about drinking at attitude is that the alcohol has twice the effect which means that we got hammered a lot quicker...oly problem is that we still drank at the same rate so things get messy pretty quickly! The other bad thing is that the hangovers hurt alot! It is great to have Sean's mate Dave here...

Jan 26, 2006 - Aspen...Coming Ready or Not
Well I made it safely to Aspen after my 20+ hours in various planes. Met a couple of interesting people on the flights. One guy was a producer for the ESPN eXtreme games that start in Aspen tomorrow and I tought him the rules of cricket. Another girl from Oz was off to Philly near New York and she was part of the team working the emergency plans for the Bird flu pandemic. Well good old Sean and his mate Dave picked me up from the airport and the temperatue was a bit of a shock from the 33C to about -5C when I got off the plane. I was...
