Jul 31, 2016 - Navajo Lake Resort (7/30 - 7/31/16)

At Vallecito Lake we couldn't stay Saturday and Sunday as they were full. We began looking for another place to stay and were having difficulty. Everyone was full for the weekend. We finally found a spot for the weekend at Navajo Lake Resort. We were very grateful for that. When we arrived at Navajo Lake Resort, we were greeted like family! I was also very warmly greeted by the family dog, Ranger. He is a big, lovable Golden Lab. The owners, Pat & Selina Hughes, are very friendly and welcoming. I noticed that they had hummingbird feeders...

Aug 20, 2007 - Onward to Colorado

Left for Colorado at 11:00. We got our tires checked and found that one was leaking at the stem. We had to get the stem valve replaced. Stopped at a grocery store at Chama, NM. We crossed the Continental Divide just after that but didn't realize it until later. The scenery here is beautiful. We passed through Pagosa Springs. It is an up and coming place. Very pretty. On the way to the campsite, we passed Chimney Rock but didn't stop. Arrived at Navajo State Park. It is really beautiful. We were in Carracas Campground. We had a great view...

Jun 5, 2007 - Navajo State Park

When we talked about going south before going north (more info at the next entry), Don & good friend/fellow RVer, Tom, decided that Navajo State Park (on the Colorado side) would be a good destination for the newbies & experienced folks to meet at. Tom, Terry & Max (a Schnauzer & darn good traveler) won't be here until the 8th but we'll scout out the place ourselves for now. This park really is beautiful! The San Juan River is practically at our doorstep & is visible from our windows. It's so true that you don't know what you are missing...
