Aug 3, 2011 - Sittin' On the Dock of the Bay

Before I commence with our current travels, I neglected to mention an event prior to the start of this trip. I enjoyed a wonderful, but short, lunch with a few of my former colleagues at my former school, Merlinda Elementary. My awesome former 4th grade team joined me: Carol, Debbie and Tiffany. Sep 7, 2008 - The Avenue Of Giants

We drove about 170 miles today. We spent most of that time in the Redwoods! Neither of us imagined they would go down that far, but they did. We finished seeing them, all while traveling Hwy 101 and then turned east for our first 20 miles going home. We are camped at Upper Lake, California on Hwy 20. We will remain on Hwy 20 until we reach Nevada. We drove through a section of Hwy 101 that I would highly recommend anyone to see. Dec 27, 2007 - Upper Lake California in all its glory

Now, this campground, called THE NARROWS on Blue Lake road, on the north west side of Clear Lake (taking Hwy 20 west across CA from just north of Sacremento) was really something. Very windy bumpy narrow road down to this small rustic camp. Carl manuevered the camper wonderfully with absolutely no damage. Amazing since the sides of camper actually touched the trees as we made the turns. Of course since he took our 34' motorhome down Carpenters Fort in West Virginia a few years back I can trust him to take our 5th wheel just about any where....
