Each time Reggi went to California to visit her father and now when we go to California the first stop on the way to Carlsbad is the Self Realization Fellowship in Solana Beach. It is a very peaceful place overlooking the Pacific Ocean, it is filled with beautiful plants and flowers. Mar 12, 2008 - Day 39: Birding, biking, and Grant comes to dinner

We arose early to meet Emmy and Don, whom we had contacted by email, to bird at San Elijo Lagoon north of San Diego. We started at 8 am and the birds of note were a local subspecies of the Savannah Sparrow-Beldings and a lifer species, the Wrentit. We also had our first Lesser Yellowlegs, White-tailed Kites, Peregrine Falcon, Common Yellowthroat, and Merlin of the trip there.
