Dec 25, 2012 - Spent the night at Leisure World in RV visiting my dad
We visited my dad and spent the night in the RV at Leisure World in the parking lot next to the library. It was quiet and we had plenty of room for the pop outs. We had a nice visit with Aunt Martha the next day and took my dad to breakfast at his old school yard that is now a restaurant. Next day we headed to San Diego. So far our new RV is doing well and rides like a dream.

Jan 23, 2012 - This, That and The Central Coast
Just a quick synopsis of some important events since our last travel blog…… We attended the 236th Marine Corps Ball with our son, Brandon. Brandon’s Ball was held in Las Vegas, Nevada. There were over 1,000 Marines from the School of Infantry (West) and with guests’ there 1,500 people in attendance! We stayed a few extra days in the area and visited my Aunt and Uncle, Charlene and Dennis Bim. Kelli and Dan hosted Thanksgiving at their house and as always, they did a wonderful job with all the food. Kathy, Tom and Claire joined Dennis and I,...

August 26 through 29, Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station, Seabreeze RV Park We look forward to reconnecting with family when we visit Seal Beach. Apr 24, 2010 - Seal Beach
We left Pismo for Seal Beach Thursday and we were delighted to find the traffic through LA was very light (a rarity). Seabreeze RV Park in Seal Beach is our home away from home and it’s always great to stay here and visit with my folks and Scott’s sister. Heather usually comes to visit but she’s in Indio this weekend. Today we took Little Bear to the Seal Beach Classic Car Show (23rd year) and she did very well. As always the classic cars were fabulous and if I had the funds I love to have a muscle car from the 60’s or a red Nomad, maybe a...

Sep 8, 2009 - Seal Beach, CA
We left Tucson the day after Labor Day about 10 a.m. It was a hot drive across into Seal Beach, CA but it wasn't a hard trip. I (Patti) took a short turn at driving to give Hank a break, but that was before we got into heavy traffic in Calif. It was good for both of us, since I hadn't had any "practice" for awhile. But, it was even better for both of us for me to have not been driving when we did get into the "real" Calif. traffic. I am sure I could have done it, but we were both much happier that I wasn't driving. We are at the Seabreeze...

Aug 16, 2009 - The Journey begins with the first step
Preparation is Long and arduous. Last minute mechanical additions added to a smooth ride and a quicker cold start. We also had the sale of some property. That was miraculous,we had been trying to sell it for 2.5 years. One week before we are to leave we get an offer. Signing papers and hundreds of phone calls/emails/signature etc. Made for a very hectic week. I wanted to especially thank the mechanics that got Paco/the Westy, fixed up for the trip. Paco has a new 2200cc water boxer engine from Go Westy. Nick and Alfredo at TNT automotive...

Jun 30, 2008 - The start of the Peck-Lopez Alaskan Adventure
Okay, so we left Seal Beach, California at what my husband says is O dark hundred (5:40am). Our first day of travel was uneventful and we got to our first destination at Travis AFB around 3:30 pm. Our restroom stops were NOT few NOR far between!!!! The drive was very nice and the kids got along fine for the most part. We stopped at a few rest stops to have breakfast and lunch but dinner was Spaghetti in the RV. Jason and I decided that we could not make this trip without a nice video camera so we walked to the BX at Travis and bought...

May 1, 2008 - Seal Beach Naval Weapons Facility
Today we moved from Bolsa Chica State Beach to Seal Beach Naval Weapons Facility. We plan to be here for the month of May. June is still up in the air. This facility is very nice and clean. So far, it is one of the best we have stayed in. We are just about five minutes from the beach and that is one of the reasons we chose this place. We have no pics yet because we have to get authorization to take pics on base. Hopefully we will have some to put on our journal soon. We are planning on going to the movies tomorrow to watch Baby Mama, that...
