Sep 28, 2004 - Folsom-New York

We left Sacramento on Oct. 28 and flew to Denver for a short lay-over (2hrs) and continued on to New York landing at LaGuardia in the rain at about 6:30pm. We watched direct TV on the seat backs in front of us (see photo). At the Denver gate I was told to 'next time' please wear a collared shirt because I would better represent the airline that way. The standby status of my ticket caused her to assume that I was a Frontier Airlines employee. I smiled and said 'ok' and let it go. Our reservation was at the Pan American hotel which must have...

Jun 10, 2004 - Getting everything ready to go

Well it has been a lot of work, but I think we have bought everything that we need to before we go. We both have really nice Arc'Teryx backpacks which we took backpacking over Memorial Day weekend. Everything worked quite well and was very comfortable. We still have a lot to do before we go. Shelly still has her finals and her GRADUATION, and we still have to pack all of our stuff to move to Southern California. Jonathan & Shelly

Lost in Europe

Jun 29, 2002 - Lake Tahoe, NV

The south shore...

Jun 26, 2002 - Sacramento, CA

We reluctantly left Yosemite and chose the Gold country route out of there, as the digital camera had died in Carmel, and the only warranty service center in the US happened to be in Sacramento. We dropped it there on our way to the high Sierras to visit yet another group of friends. Route 49 through the Gold country is really something -- another road not for the faint of heart. More suited for wagon trains than large Vans. Phil did a great job of maneuvering the 10 MPH hairpin turns.

Jan 2, 2001 - 1973 March 24 - Visit with Cousin Clarence Gilbreath and Family

This week end I flew to Sacramento to visit with Cousin Clarence Gilbreath and his family. He is the son of my Uncle Silas. I had not seen Clarence and Wanda since I was about 14 and I had never seen their children. On Saturday I went with them and some of their friends to Lake Pardee where we took a pontoon out onto the lake. On Sunday morning I went to church with them and then they showed me around Sacramento a little before taking me to the airport. It was a wonderful week end.
