Aug 4, 2005 - Bye Bye Reno and the trip begins....Shasta California

We set out for Oregon to visit with my family (Deb's)....the Medills...on the way we stopped at the great Lake Shasta Caverans, an amazing place. If any of you can take a day or weekend trip up to see them they are well worth it. Did not leave Sacramento until 11:30AM. Got to Lassen National Park and our campsite at Manzanita Lake around 4PM. Beautiful roads into the park. What a surprise and the best is this is the MOST BEAUTIFUL CAMPING...

We made contact with the Lairds, our friends that we are meeting at the rally. We met them in Austria and have skied together the last two years. We ate chicken and steamed vegetables tonight as we...

Then we blew straight south for the heat! (PS.- I'm having a hard time finding computers with workable internet connections on the road, so the entries might be a little belated. Sorry!)
