Mar 22, 2010 - Great Friends for Us, and also for Suzie!

From Coronado we headed back north a little, and took Louie to spend the weekend at Camping World getting bathed while we headed over to visit great friends from our years in Glendale who now live just outside San Diego. They have always made us feel welcome when we visit, but this time they put out a special welcome mat because we came with Suzie. They have a beautiful border collie/australian shepherd mix named Mattie and the 2 girls had the time of their lives. They are both just over 2 years old and they played and ran and chased and...

Jun 18, 2009 - Last day in San Diego County

6/18 – Cereal, juice, yogurt, and granola bars in the room for breakfast today. I watched a number of golfers tee off in an outing (scramble format for you golfers) today from our balcony while I ate breakfast. It was nice to see that I am not alone in my inability to consistently hit a golf ball well. Mom and the girls went lap swimming, I was put in charge of taking pictures. After some time, we switched pools and I swam and hot tubbed with the kids. We hit Rubio's for lunch and arranged to meet Sam and his family at the beach. This...

Jun 17, 2009 - Beach Day

6/17 – Awoke and hunted down breakfast at a local Jack In the Box while the girls went lap swimming with Mom. After breakfast, we got in touch with Sam and Lisa (Erika’s brother and sister in law), stopped by their home (very nice) to borrow Boogie boards and hit the beach in Oceanside. June gloom is still in full swing and we did not see the sun until around 2:30. I boogie boarded and went for a walk with Erika Sue and Aspen. Mom relaxed on the beach as it was too cool for her to enjoy the water. We had our “Baywatch” moment when Aspen...

Jun 16, 2009 - Down to San Diego County

6/16 We enjoyed breakfast with cousin Julie, Norm, and Jane at the local Denny's. Julie took the girls shopping and Uncle Norm took me to the local barber shop. This marks the 2nd time I have had my hair cut in this barber shop, and only the 2nd haircut I have paid for in years (I usually get up and run out of the barber shop – actually Erika cuts it at home) We departed Fullerton and made our way towards the Rancho Bernardo Inn – http://www.ranchobernardoinn.com This great destination is managed by our friend John Gates. It is a beautiful...
