Jan 4, 2013 - on to Palm Springs
Forth day. Went to CampingWorld, and bought stuff. Got on the road late, and found steep hills to climb, we should have un-hooked the car. The 215 hwy was great tip from the Brook's, sure better than the 210 hwy. Arrived at Fantasy Springs Casino, Palm Springs at 1500 hrs. There are more RVs here than in March 2012. Shopping at Home Depot, Target Super store. Stayed at Fantasy Springs casino

Aug 3, 2012 - Palm Springs

Jun 20, 2012 - Palm Springs, CA
It was finally time to leave Las Vegas after staying a few extra days in order to attend my cousin Charlie's memorial service. We opted to skip our stop in Laughlin, NV, so we could keep up with our itinerary. So we headed straight to Palm Springs. We left around 7am to try to beat the heat through the desert also knowing that we had to climb several high mountains and wanted to avoid overheating. We did stop in Primm, which is the state line town in Nevada right over the California border. We had a great breakfast at Whiskey Pete's Casino...

Apr 22, 2012 - Feeling the heat
I just can’t believe this heat! It’s 10 pm and still in the high 30’s! Yesterday and today have been the hottest days on our trip and the hottest days Eric and Julia have ever experienced. The temperature has been over 40 degrees Celsius and just in case you’re wondering, that is really hot! I guess that is why I’m using all the explanation marks…lol When we got up this morning my first thought was COLD SHOWER! After showering and getting dressed in the coolest outfit I had I got the kids ready. We were going to visit Melissa’s church. Both...

We went to Palm Springs Aerial Tram, with the Clark's. It Takes you from 2500 ft to 8500 ft and you may as well say ALL VERTICAL. i know there were a few fingerprints left in the handles, the dam floor even rotates. No not scary, Amazing.. it took 11 mins to go up to the top Station/ restaurant /gift shop etc. We walked down a concrete trail system to a pint when the snow stopped us from going any further. we did dip our toes in the snow. It was a bout 6c up there. We had lunch, not too bad for pricing. They have to transport all food,...

Mar 14, 2012 - The living dessert
Oh my goodness! It was so hot today I think our brains boiled =) Today Melissa's super sweet sister took us to a zoo called "The Living Dessert". It was really cool. They had a bunch of animals from Africa but also from the dessert here in the United States. We got to see giraffes, cheetahs, a leopard (who just so happened to scare the living daylights out of me), a bunch of tortoises, birds in different shapes and sizes and so much more. We saw a wildlife show that the kids and I thought was a lot of fun and even went into the animal...

Another gorgeous day! What a treat to be able to wake up to sunshine everyday...Just LOVE it! We've been on a tour of yet another part of the Palm Springs area. This time we went to a shopping center called " The River". Quite a few cute little shops and our favorite was of course the hat shop. We spent quite some time in there trying on different hats. Some were funny, others really pretty and some were just darn right funny looking =) When we left there we decided to go to a park to play. Back home in Sweden one of our favorite things to...

We are now back in La Quinta at Melissa's house. The trip back from San Diego went well but today we've been really tuckered out. Sometimes it's nice to just kick back and take it easy and that's just what we did today. The weather is still gorgeous and we are pretty confident that it's going to stay this way so we didn't feel any pressure about having to go outside and take advantage of the sun. We went for a little walk but other then that stayed in and played games. Really nice actually! We also had to continue planning the next leg of...

Headed out for Palm Springs took Hwy 111 (back road sorta) it took us thru Indian Wells, Palm Desert,Rancho Mirage, Cathedral City and Palm Springs. As you drive they all blended together with shopping centers etc. As you get closer to Palm Springs you see the old style of moderism buildings, really neat. There is quite a collection and they are perserved. Hwy 111 is also Palm Canyon Drive. We didn't stop in PS and walk around as will do that another day. We continued on to the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. We visited here, we think in 1972...
