Oct 25, 2012 We left the Orange Grove RV Park at about 9:30 to home on our final day of this trip. The only hitch in today’s travel was when we stopped at Flying-J for fuel. There were two RVs at the RV station; a toy hauler and a MH. I pulled up as far as I could but my truck was sticking out in the road a little. The camper behind me parked across the street from me, next to another truck that was parked on the opposite side of the road. This resulted in a tight squeeze for the long hall truckers to pass. They must have been iterated. The...

Monday, December 27, 2010 The days have been going by. A belated Merry Christmas to All. We have just been enjoying ourselves at Barb’s brother’s place in Livermore, CA. We have been treated royally and are eating entirely too many great meals. Had an enjoyable Xmas eve with Tim and Susan and a couple who are close friends of theirs. Xmas morning we opened some gifts. Barb’s brother Rich and wife Julie Ann arrived in the afternoon. That evening we opened a few more gifts. The plan is to hang around until after New Years and then head...

September 2, 2010 day 89 Corning to Home The Rolling Hill Casino and RV Park is a nice place, at least what we observed driving into the RV park portion. We thought about going to the Casino for dinner but it was too hot and driving in the heat down from Medford, OR was tiring even with the dash AC on in the MH. It just can’t keep up with the demand in the large area of the MH when the temperature is 100+ outside. Back to the Casino; they have an area for truckers to park their big rigs and a lounge area with showers they can use. There is...

June 1, 2010 We are loading up the motor home in preparation for our trip There are lots to do. I changed the oil in the MH and the truck. Lubed the MH. checked all the fluids, Washed and waxed the MH and truck. Had new tires put on the truck. And the biggie… The satellite dish on the MH died so I ordered a new one from Winegard the first part of May. It came in on the 2nd of June. I had to remove the old one and install the new one. Fortunately my friend Eric hopefully he is still my friend) helped me. It is a two man job and it took us...

May 1, 2009 - We almost got out of town today

Had a great time in Sacramento. Spent a day in San Francisco going thru the California Academy of Sciences. This is a new, huge building with a sod roof containing a planetarium, rainforest, coral reef and other great exhibits. Spent the entire day and then went to Fisherman’s Wharf for a bite to eat. Last Wednesday we took a drive up to Truckee and met up with my old bosses daughter, Jessica Peterson. Had a nice lunch and then took a great hike in the pines in the Sierra Nevada. Felt great to stretch our legs and wander among big trees....

Apr 23, 2009 - Back in Livermore, hoping for repairs

Tuesday morning was a fine one, sun was shining thru the huge Ponderosa Pines and Live Oaks in the CG. Cooked up french toast using cinnamon english muffins and man were they good. Took a hike to an observation deck and it was hot, hot, hot. Then we drove to the Redwood grove in the park. We figured it might be a little cooler down in the valley under the towering trees. Not really so we strolled nice and easy amongst those amazing giants. If there is anyone who has not seen the sight of a living thing that rises to the sky so far your neck...

Apr 19, 2009 - Brother Tims

Had a nice easy run to Livermore, just east of Frisco. Unfortunately I had a scratchy throat just as we were getting here and it turned into a real doozy of a crud whopper. Must have been the Las Vegas Crud cause it just laid me out. Man has it been a long time since I got hit like that. After 4 days I’m still feeling the effects. We did get the bikes out for a spin finally and today (Sunday) we are heading for Henry Cowles Redwood State Park just south of San Jose. They are getting some near record temps here so should be just a beautiful...

Nov 8, 2008 - Shawn's College Graduation Party

Our Grandson Shawn graduated from College, and we attended his Casino Graduation Party. What a fun time we had. They went all out, hiring a bar tender and a card dealer who doubled as a greeter at the door when people came in. We had catered Mexican Food, and Margaritas, and people played cards and ate and talked. We started around 2:00 PM and the last stragglers finished around 1:00 AM with the cleanup, I'm told. I went to bed at 11:00 PM. We talked to a lot of people we hadn't seen in a long time, and talked to some new people from the...
