Oct 16, 2008 - Day 38 Lakewood CA Day 3

Day 38 (Thur, Oct 16) Finished our computer/photo updating in the morning and went to a nearby Walmart to get an oil change and tire rotation for the final leg home over the next couple of weeks. Thanks to sweet chauffeur Carl, the three of us headed out before lunchtime to take in the sights of the Movie Capital of the World. Toured the streets of Beverly Hills gawking at the mansions, as well as going down Rodeo Drive, Sunset Boulevard, by the Hollywood Bowl and several movies studios. Picked up a Map of the Stars Homes on a street corner...

Oct 15, 2008 - Day 37 Lakewood CA Day 2

Day 37 (Wed, Oct 15) This was our recharge, regroup day. Did lots of laundry and got to work updating this travel log and downloading photos. Carl was happy to be off through the end of the week to hang with us. Lita had to work but checked in with all to make sure we were ok – always the generous and concerned host! Got to meet John's step sister Lyla, her husband David and their adorable girls Madison, Mikala and Malia. Lyla, Mikala and Malia came over in the morning and were so nice to take me to get a pedicure around the block....

Oct 14, 2008 - Day 36 Pismo Beach CA to Lakewood CA

Day 36 (Tue, Oct 14) We were all parting ways early as Tony and True and Dolly and Dave needed to get back to San Diego area and it was a long drive. Exchanged emails and I know we'll all be in touch. What a great bunch. Stopped to get a HUGE cinnamon roll and coffee at Pismo's Old West Cinnamon Rolls and More and we continued south down US 1 toward John's dad's house in Los Angeles. Went inland in Santa Barbara county to visit Bavarian town Solvang and Buellton, which are home to the wineries made famous in the movie “Sideways”. Tony said...
