One would think there isn't a Target or Walmart anywhere but in Irvine! I'm sure we'll get about 100 miles down the road tomorrow and one of us will say "Did you pack....?" Then we'll start a list of forgotten items.

Jan 5, 2009 - Heading Home
Today we're heading home, but not until we've tried some hike here. All the hikes in the Zion valley were iced over, so we chose the "Watchman Trail" . This one was located at the visitors' center and proved to be quite a fun little hike, as it wound up a near-by canyon and over to an observation point high above the valley . The end of the trail had a little packed snow but was manageable . After some great morning exercise , we finally headed home, making a stop to meet some friends in Las Vegas. We must say that this trip provided us...

Dec 30, 2008 - trip details
We are officially winterized as I got a collapsible shovel and Darcy some hiking poles. We are anticipating a very cool trip. We're staying 3 nights at the mouth of Bryce Canyon. If the weather holds, we'll drive for way too much and if it snows, we'll xc-ski and snowmobile the day away. Then it's off to Zion Nat'l park on Sunday. So far they're calling for snow at Bryce and rain at Zion. Sounds like a great weekend to me.
