Apr 1 66520 7:35 No wind, no clouds, bright sun, beautiful. We have camped at -5 below sea level and will now climb up to nearly 5,000 feet to cross the pass out of the valley. Our campground is surrounded by mountains. Long steady climb, top speed about 35, unless we get a dip and then we can hit 40. There is snow on the highest peaks. CA 190 west out of Death Valley is an unparalleled road. After the initial 5000 foot climb, we descend into a valley and then begin the climb on the other side.
