Paul's long time friends Dean and Rosie Kinzel came up for a visit. We decided to go up to Tehachapi and have lunch at the Apple Shed (A favorite of Kathie's). We strolled around town for a bit then went down to the famous Tehachapi Loop. The Tehachapi Loop was constructed in 1876 to allow the Santa Fe Railroad to maintain the 3% grade and gain 77 feet in elevation. It is one of the "greatest engineering feats" of all time.
