Nov 8, 2016 - Camarillo, Ca - Nov 4

The ride down the coast from Paso Robles to Camarillo was quite beautiful although a little traffic filled. A stop for gas took on a drive through a historic residential area of Santa Barbara. From the passenger perspective it was nerve wracking and I hope we don’t do that again. But Tom was good with the side trip.  We decided to stay at Point Mugu which is a naval installation and they have an RV park. Point Mugu’s mission is special weapons testing. Tom told me that and we did not see any testing. The rv park didn't look like very much...

Sep 4, 2011 - Rock Springs, WY - Sep 3 & 4

Here are some photos of the KOA Campground and some cute homes in Rock Springs, WY. It is a quaint little town with some really neat houses. A couple are shwon here. There was a row of small, well kept Craftsman style house with a bright PURPLE one right in the middle! Went through Historic Downtown. Pictured is an original firestation, which is now a Historical Building. Many, many churches in this small town. The ringing of church bells was heard all over, as several rang loud at Noon. Tomorrow on to Jackson and the Tetaons. Can't...

Sep 3, 2011 - Wyoming, Sep 3

Today we stopped in Rock Springs Wyoming at a KOA Campground. Just a gravel lot, no trees, but does have a pool, laundry, cable TV, and of course WiFi! Will take some photos tomorrow and post them. We are stuck here for another night, because ALL the campgrounds in Teton National Park are FULL! Should have made reservations, but it does not dampen our spirits! Tonight was Mexican Theme Night! Burritos, Enchiladas, Tamales, chips, salsa and of course MARGARITAS! First night in Teton NP will be Seafood Night! Later, Darryl, Carole, Ken,...

Sep 2, 2011 - Salt Lake City, Utah

Well, as I said before, Salt Lake City is gorgeous! We went to Temple Square where the Mormon Temple, Tabernacle, Assembly Hall, Hotel Utah, Visitors Center and Hall of Family Search is located. All tour guides are Missionaries , and ever so eager to share their knowledge of everything in the Temple Square. We were privileged to be on time for an organ recital at the Tabernacle. WOW! The acoustics in the Tabernacle Hall are phenomenal. The 7000 pipe organ is not only a thing of beauty, but what wonderful music! Check out some of the photos...

Sep 1, 2011 - Third Day, Salt Lake City, Utah

Day three finds us in Salt Lake City, where we plan to stay for 2 or 3 days to see the sights. We are staying here http://ponyexpressrvresort.com/Photo_Gallery.php Four year new park just out of downtown. Weather is warm, but nice. Carole's birthday today, so I am taking to her favorite dining place, Golden Corral! Will take, and post photos before we leave. So far, no troubles with the new Sea Breeze. All is working well. Unfortunatley, Ron Kehoe is not having as good service as Ken and I are having. His dash A/C is blowing hot air, and in...

Hello friends! Our first day was spent on the road with the first night layover in beautiful, Mesquite, Nevada! The first photo is of our, and the Kehoe's rigs parked in the Casablanca RV Park(?). A parking lot for RVs. Large sites though with 50 AMP, and we needed it in the 108o temps! Second day was only a 4 1/2 hour jaunt to Fillmore, Utah where we are now. The drive was fairly nice with better, and better secenery as we headed North through Utah. Temps are in the 80's with lots of wind! Pretty little KOA here out in the wilderness....

May 23, 2010 - Too comfy to leave

Hi All Still here in Camarillo, pronounced Camaree-o as it is spanish. Judy and Ted have two adorable dogs called Wiley and Cleo. Cleo is like a lamb with short legs and Wiley is a grey and white shaggy dog. I have grown very fond of them both. Have been taking our time getting stuff done. It seems that James will be inventing the wheel by doing this wiring up. We really just want wiring that will enable us to keep the chilly bin cold and also to keep our electronics charged up, but there is no info on it. The photo here is when James went...

May 19, 2010 - Rest, Relaxation and Sweet As, Strawberries

Hi Team We have reached the last of our goals - LA. Before I carry on, I just need to quickly advise the non-NZ people about the saying 'cheeky darkie'. A famous guy in NZ called Paul Holmes interviewed somebody once and he called the guy 'a cheeky darkie' and it caused a real controversy. So I was just being silly when I wrote it in the last entry. When we left Wyoming in the freezing cold last week, we trudged on through to the West and on the way we stopped off in Boise, Idaho. We had a really good day and went through beautiful...

Mar 23, 2009 - Blythe to Camarillo, California

From Blythe we crossed California from the Arizona border to the Pacific Coast, sticking to the freeways all the way. The weather was good and once we got beyond Palm Springs the wind was less of a factor. Surprisingly, we actually skirted the northern part of Los Angeles at 5:00 PM and had no traffic issues at all. In fact motorcycles can use the HOV (High Occupancy Vehicle) lanes and we zipped through in no time. The multi-tiered freeway ramps are amazing but if you get onto the wrong exit I expect it could take hours to find your way...

Jun 28, 2008 - Universal Studios

June 29 The drive along Pacific Coast Highway from the airport to Camarillo gave us a chance to get caught up with family news and take in a bit of sight-seeing inspite of the marine layer. The route we took was from LAX, through Marina Del Rey, along Malibu Beach and over the Santa Monica Mountains to Camarillo where my motor home was parked at my daughters home. June 28 This morning started with a 50+ miles driveto Universal City. It warmed to 84F which made for a pleasant day involving lots of walking that a Universal Studios visit...
