Jul 19, 2010 - Twin Lakes (Bridgeport, CA)

Twin Lakes is near Bridgeport, CA. The actual campground is called Annett's Mono Village Campground and is a spectacular place at 7,000 feet elevation. The deer are plentiful and the bears come around looking for food every night. Fishing is superb. The California record Brown Trout was taken from the Upper Twin. It weighed over 27 pounds!! Nights were very chilly (into the 40's) but the days warmed up nicely. Besides a marina, they have a store, restaurant and pay wi-fi service (somewhat limited depending on where you are in the campground).

Jun 26, 2008 - Dagbok 8. dag

Jun 9, 2008 - Bodie and Yosemite

We visited Bodie which is a ghost town state park that is being maintained as it was with only repairs being done to keep the buildings as is. The drive in was rough with 3 miles of really rough dirt roads but it was worth it. Only about 1/6 of the town remains but it looks like the people just up and left. Houses still have some furniture, the pool table and bar tables are still in one of the bars, gaming tables and slot machine are still in another. It was really interesting to peek in the windows and see what was still there. We drove...

May 12, 2008 - Day 30 Twin Lakes, Sierra Nevade Mts

Day 30 Monday 12th May, Sierra Nevada Mountain Range (Northern End) Our journey today continued northward along 395 towards Reno. Travelling in this part of the country you have to go over mountain passes in excess of 7,000’ and today was no exception (not a problem with a car, but can be a slow trip with the our RV). We had a few side diversions, with the first to Crawley Lake and then Mammoth Lake which we happened to miss, but came across Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort which was just as interesting, looked very trendy with plenty of...
