Jan 17, 2008 - On the Road Again !!!

Well we are on the road again. This is a relatively short trip, hopefully for about four weeks. Most of the spots we plan to visit have been visited before. But it just feels so good to be camping! We left this morning around 10:30 a.m. for Borrego Springs. There were high wind warnings for a Santa Anna, which I take very seriously. I drove the same route several years ago, and hit side winds of 50+ mph. They tore the a/c cover off as well as a large fiberglass storage box on top of the motor-home. Jan 11, 2008 - Anza Borrego Desert State Park, Borrego Springs

We have arrived in our desert sanctuary for much needed time to decompress from the holidays, meditate on the beauty that surrounds us and be thankful for all our blessings! Truthfully, this place really becomes a spiritual destination that follows what seems like months caught up in much fun and frivolity, materialism gone beserk, too much "stuff" taking on way too much importance. We need an "attitude adjustment" and got just that from a recent reading of Tom Robbins' "Fierce Invalids Home from Hot Climates"! This man is both irreverent...

Dec 31, 2007 - Borrego Springs CA

Borrego Springs, CA What a romantic-sounding name, Borrego Springs. This is our last day here--we're heading back to Mesa tomorrow, New Year's Day. So we decided to visit Borrego Springs. It's about an hour's drive from Indio, but it's a drive into a real moonscape topography . The area between the Salton Sea and Borrego Springs is a mecca for toy haulers, motorbikes and four wheelers . Ah--to be young again! Those kids (big and little) sure were having fun tearing up the desert...thus our name of the "Tear-erists of the Desert". Borrego...
