The island of Catalina provides many recreational activities for everyone. Catalina is well known for its’ world-class golfing and art showcase on the island. Catalina Island is a quaint Town hence the restaurants there are not your typical restaurants you find on the mainland. There are no Quick Service chain restaurants on the entire Island. but there are plenty of smaller nice family-owned restaurants on the island. All the restaurants on the island create an amazing atmosphere of great smells and cool ocean breezes. Catalina Island is such a unique experience and offers a wide variety of non Hotel / Resort accommodations. Many of the accommodations are found on airbnb.com. These nice properties give guests a variety of things to choose from. It allows them to specify what they really want and control their experience with their stay. The hotel industry found on Catalina Island is very interesting. There is not much room in the island since there are no Resorts or large hotels due to lack of property. This leads to many small hotels being in the area with high competition and great rates for tourism. Most hotels do not go over $300 and are at a minimum of about $100 a night. Just about every corner there is a hotel with full services and restaurants around every corner.

The locals on the island are accustomed to walking around the island because there are heavy restrictions of automotive vehicles. Most locals have golf carts to get around the island. While on the island it is very easy getting around. The hotels are only a five minute walk from the dock. The Cities are very small, and one can easily navigate their way on the island by foot.
