Sep 22, 2018 - A Fun Week

It's Saturday morning and we are back in our "condo on wheels" in Arkansas but I'll get you caught up on the events of last week. It was pretty hectic. Wednesday morning Jackie had a runny nose and scratchy throat that was worse than on Tuesday so he decided to go to the Mercy Urgent Care clinic that we have used before when we were in Branson. They gave him a steroid shot and a prescription for a nasal spray. The doctor said he didn't have any infection and therefore he wasn't contagious. That was good news because usually when he has...

Sep 14, 2018 - 1 more sleep

Another birthday has come and almost gone and it has been one of the best ever. I am so blessed to have so many friends and family near and far that are so kind to send me birthday greetings and wishes. I have been busy all day just trying to answer them all. This old woman's cup is running over tonight for sure. I also got to spend time with both my kids. Sharon and Todd stopped by for a short while on their way to Prairie Grove for her aunt's visitation. Then we went to Bill and Christie's for supper and a short game of hand, knee, and...

Sep 13, 2018 - 2 more sleeps

Today was lots better for me than yesterday. Sunshine all day and not a cloud in the sky. Our thoughts and prayers are definitely with those people on the east coast though as they deal with "Florence". We have many friends in the Carolinas and Tennessee that will surely be involved in it. I almost had a jammers day today, but this evening I got dressed and we went up to Bill and Christie's for supper. Christie is cooking supper tomorrow night since it's my birthday so we treated them to pizza tonight. Yes tomorrow is the big day!!! Number...

Sep 12, 2018 - Sad Day.....Happy Day

Yesterday was a sad day as we remembered the horror of 9/11 seventeen years ago. I remember exactly where I was when the news of the attack was released. I was getting ready for work when my co-worker called me and asked if I had the TV on. I immediately turned on the Today show and watched for hours. I called my boss and told him I just couldn't leave the house. My mind just couldn't believe what I was seeing. And for days afterwards I was glued to the news on every channel. Today started out as a sad day also. We received word that my...

Sep 11, 2018 - A wonderful weekend....

As I posted last time, Friday night was a very long night. Jackie slept like a baby, but every time he moved I was awake as I was terrified he would do something that would make his arm start bleeding. But he is just fine. I followed all the instructions they gave us at the clinic and all went well. We spent lots of time with Chuck and Sheila over the weekend as well as with Dan and Sandy. We convinced them to stay in Russellville and hang out with us too. Saturday afternoon we all met at Brown's Catfish along with Tommy and Lorene and...

Sep 7, 2018 - Great news!!!!!

It's a great day at our house!!!! Jackie had his heart cath today and he has no blockage in any of his 5 bypasses he has had for 15 years!!!!! Thank you God for your blessings!!!! After his stress test came back abnormal last week, we were pretty sure that it was a false positive reading due to his heart attack and bypass surgery back in 2003. But it's hard not to have lingering doubts as to something being wrong. We had to be at the clinic in Conway at 7:00am this morning which meant getting up at 4:30. Sharon arrived at 5:00am and drove...

Sep 1, 2018 - A bump in the road

September 1st....How did you get here so fast? Razorback football today? I'm not sure I'm ready for this yet.....But the good part is 2 weeks until Branson for a week.....I'm definately ready for that!!!!! But before that happens we have some things to take care of here at home. As I've posted before, Jackie is really wanting to be a substitute bus driver for the school here. They need drivers badly and he drove a bus when he was a senior in high school at this very school and really liked it. He has passed all the exams required and has...

Aug 26, 2018 - "It is what it is"

What a weekend....So much fun and so much sadness..... Friday was the fun.....I drove to Dardanelle and met Sharon at her beauty shop for both of us to get much needed haircuts. Afterwards we stopped in at Millyn's to do some shopping, in fact I bought a Christmas present for someone while I was there. Then we came back here to our place to visit until time to go to Russellville to get our nails done and pedicures. That was also fun and much needed. She and I don't get to spend nearly as much time together as I would like because she has to...

Aug 21, 2018 - Catching up

I just wanted to bring you all up to speed on our latest news. The weather is cooler but rain, rain, and more rain. Jackie can't stand it because he can't mow when he thinks it needs it. Then we get half a day window between rains and his new John Deere throws a belt. He and Bill tried to put the belt back on but couldn't so we have called them to come and get it and fix it. In the meantime he is using Bill's mower but he doesn't like it as well and it takes longer to mow the whole place. Regarding Jackie's new quest in life, he passed the...

Jul 31, 2018 - Relaxing and Planning

Hello again, I bet you thought I had forgotten how to write. We are just enjoying our new condo on wheels and watching the world go by. Nothing much to write about that is interesting. Jackie had his appointment with his cardiologist and he is cleared until next year. My appointment was good too. I had to have bloodwork which I absolutely hate, but is necessary with diabetes. My A1C is down to 5.6 which is very good so I'm okay until my next check in November. Jackie has decided to get a CDL license so he can drive a school bus. I know, I...

Jun 3, 2018 - Precious Memories

This morning Jackie and I got up early and drove to Greenland for decoration at the cemetery where many of my family members are buried. Just 6 weeks ago we were there for my sister-in-laws funeral. At that time, there was a problem with the gravesite where she was supposed to be laid to rest beside my brother Dean. As a result she was put in another section of the cemetery and my brother was supposed to be moved beside her along with the double headstone they had placed at my brother's grave when he passed away 19 years ago. When we...

May 15, 2018 - The times...they are a changing!!!!

Well, the trailer arrived and we are thrilled with it. There were a few little problems like when they prepared it for travel at the lot, they didn't get one of the kitchen drawers in the island fastened and it rubbed against one of the cabinet doors. The dealership has ordered a new door. Also had a couple of water leaks but nothing serious and a phone call to Great Escapes was all it took to get it fixed. Luckily we have an RV service within a couple of miles that came right out and fixed us up. We are all moved in finally, and we have so...
