We enjoyed driving the beautiful mountain roads. They were just high and winding enough to be pretty. They are a lot of pastures mixed in with the trees so it is very scenic. We ate breakfast on one day and lunch on another at the local busy cafe in Norman. Everyone knew everyone and had to greet them as they came in. The food was generous and good and very reasonably priced. The cafe was called the Poor Horse Cafe. We drove over to Mt. Ida one day (about 8 miles down the road). Spring Trips 2013

Oct 3, 2013 - Ouachita Mountains

We are now in Arkansas, land of beautiful small mountains and very friendly people. We were not all that thrilled with out camp. It was right on the Caddo River and could be a very nice place but it was a bit scruffy. The manager was a hillbilly to be sure. He greeted us shirtless with several missing teeth. His RV had quite a bit of "lawn ornaments" like old inter tubes and just junkie. There were a couple of dogs running loose also. Apr 30, 2008 - The Vagaries of Standby Air Travel

The four of us were up before dawn on April 18 for our flight back to Atlanta. Seat availability looked pretty good actually on the 9:20AM departure, so we were fairly relaxed about getting on that flight. The sky had begun to lighten as we pulled away from our villa and headed for Charles de Gaulle Airport. Traffic was fairly heavy but it kept moving and we arrived two hours before flight time.
