May 18, 2018 - Fast and Furious

Thursday was Board Meeting day at the bank. This meant long pants, coat and a tie. Wow, the last time I had on a suit was the bank Board meeting on December 14, 2017. Since January 12, 2018 I have worn long pants 4 times until today. And that was for cool to cold weather. That sure did not fit Thursday. It was hot and muggy. I need to go north. I left for the bank a little before 10:00 a.m. I returned to the Bus just before 5:00 p.m. I have not missed driving in the traffic. I have not missed the tie and long pants either. Because I had a...

May 16, 2018 - Busy, Busy...Busy

Tuesday morning started slowly as we prepared to go to see Dr. Hall. The stitches were to come out this morning. We arrived on time to find half of Little Rock was already there. We got the only empty parking place on the lot. Once we got inside we had to sit for at least 45 minutes. Then we got to see Dr. Hall and she worked her magic on Sue. She was very pleased with the surgery and Sue has a release until we return to Little Rock the next time. We spent the rest of the afternoon taking it easy. We had plans to have a final dinner with...

May 14, 2018 - Happy Mothers Day and the next...

Mothers Day started at a reasonable hour but it did start slow. Sue had the look of a raccoon since it was day three since her eyelid surgery. She felt a little bit of swelling so she did a quick frozen pea application. She was able to enjoy the Jane Doe mysteries on Hallmark for most of the day...except, when we were watching the Players Championship. We enjoyed watching the golf, both the good and the bad...i.e. Jordan Spieth taking a snowman on 18 and Jason Dufner three putting 18 and costing himself $770,000. Then a few more Jane Doe's....

May 12, 2018 - Slow Friday and Hot Saturday

As we neared the time we would leave Arizona and return to Arkansas we religiously checked the Little Rock weather to make sure we knew what we would be returning to...kind of a way of trying to acclimate ourselves. April was the third coolest April in history. That looked good to us. However, we have returned to the earliest 90 degree day in May in history. We have now experienced a few 90 degree days (or plus) since we have returned. We experienced several 90 degree plus days in Arizona as we headed east...but nothing like what we have...

May 10, 2018 - Surgery and recuperation

Up at 5:00 a.m. and scurried around to make sure we were at the Surgery Center on Fair Park at 6:30. We made it and we were standing at the door when they unlocked the doors at 6:30. We were one of about five couples there to help them get started in a hurry. Sue was taken back by 6:45 and I did not see her until about 8:15. I was advised by the nurse who assisted in the surgery that everything went well and Sue was doing fine. She was getting some relief from the items she was hooked up to and getting some apple juice for her very dry...

May 9, 2018 - Wednesday, how easy

Up fairly late this morning..(about 7:30). Breakfast and get ready for the day. Sue was up and we both got ready to get out...we just didn't until after lunch. I was busy outside just after lunch when our friend Robert drove by. He and Deborah moved out to Maumelle Park yesterday. They will be here until the 24th (same as us) and then they move back to Downtown RV Park (same as us). We left to go to get Sue some lunch and take several clothing items and some stuff from underneath the coach to the storage unit in Conway. We fed Sue on the...

May 8, 2018 - Easier Tuesday

We started getting ready for Sue's trip for the pre-op meeting with her eye doctor. Out of the park by 8:30 and at the doctor by 8:50. Check in and see the doctor and out by 9:20. We have the instructions on how to monitor and treat Sue's eyelids for the two days after her surgery. It will be long two days since we have to ice both eyes for 10 minutes every hour for two days. Will be a lot of cat naps. But this will be very beneficial for her when she is healed. Then we went to the outlet mall. I am still chasing shoe strings for my New...

May 7, 2018 - Happy Anniversary

We woke up this morning to our anniversary. We got married 47 years ago today. Young and innocent and not knowing that when we pledged forever what 47 years would be like. Tonight at dinner we talked about that very thing. We pledged our love for forever and since we were only 20, we had no concept of 47 years. But I think...no, I know we would definitely do it all over again. But that is not the only thing we woke up to this morning. We had plans to move around 10:00 a.m. or so...at 7:30 Charlie called and said they were getting ready to...

May 6, 2018 - Lazy Sunday

Long night. For some reason I coughed during the night and choked myself. I ended up sitting in a chair for about 45 minutes in the middle of the night. Back in bed and sleeping good, Bub and I started trading emails about 6:00 a.m. It was not that early where he was so it was no big deal. I was back to sleep around 6:30 and did not get up until around 8:00. One of the latest times for me in some time. Breakfast and watch out the front window of the Bus at the traffic on the river. There were not as many fishing boats out this morning as...

May 5, 2018 - Cinco de Mayo..on the River

Friday started slowly. On purpose. Our first appointment was at 11:45. We are having issues here at the park about where we will spend our second two weeks. We left in time to stop by the office and explore options. It appears we may have options that will only require a move to an interior site. We will see. Then on to Fringe Benefits. We arrived about 11:40 and were immediately met by Monja (she bought our house) and Cyrena. Hugs from all and then I left to join two of my colleagues for lunch across the street. I had a great lunch with...

May 3, 2018 - Finally...back at home...or so it seems

Today started just as yesterday. Up early and get the Bus ready to go inside at Cummins. We were ready to go before 7:45 a.m. We took the keys inside about 8:10 and left for Sue's trip to see her cardiologist. Time for a few tests later this trip since they have not been done for several years. We will just add a few more appointments to our time here in Little Rock. Then after grabbing Sue some breakfast we headed back for Cummins. A little before noon the generator service manager came in and said we were all done. Everything was...

Dec 12, 2017 - Little Rock AR

Monday’s breakfast fear was mostly – but not totally – unfounded. It started with fig soup (uh, no) but finished pretty strong. A cheesy souffle kind of thing along with some sausage (a resounding yes) and some more fresh fruit, all washed down with sweet tea. As usual, my opinion of the meal and Michele’s will probably differ. After breakfast we headed off for the short drive downtown to tour the state capitol. It was all decorated for Christmas and they do a good job, without it being too gawdy. And it was probably done pretty recently,...
