Jul 27, 2018 - It is getting closer...

Well, there are two things that are getting closer...one is OneBanc is still on schedule to close the sale on the 31st, and second is Sue is scheduled for her ablation on Monday the 30th at 10:00 a.m. All the confirming phone calls and everything have been set in motion. That is looking forward, now for a quick look back at the last two days. On Thursday after I got around and dressed I went downtown to the main bank. The purpose of my trip was to turn in my computer and my keys to the bank. Also, I was confirming everything had been...

Jul 25, 2018 - Finally, we apply for passports

The focus today was to get to Conway and apply for our passports. We expect to go over into Mexico while we are in Yuma and it would be nice to know we can get back in after each visit. So up, walk Ziva, eat breakfast, shower and prepare for the day. Started at 7:00 a.m. with our walk with Ziva. She and we are beginning to get a routine down on what and how we take our nature walk. It has not been two weeks yet but we are making progress. We left at 10:00 and headed for Conway. We arrived at the Post Office right on time. Then we had to...

Jul 24, 2018 - NOW, we are counting...

Yes, now we are counting the days until the bank sells and I retire. It should close one week from today. Yesterday was the last scheduled Board meeting for the ONEBANC Board of Directors. I have included their picture along with the bank counsel, Greg Hopkins. I will miss seeing most of these people. We have experienced a lot of highs and extremely low lows over the last five and one half years. The first picture is that of the C level team that took on this unbelievable challenge. If I had a picture of the beginning, I am sure we would...

Jul 22, 2018 - Swimming on Saturday and Slow Sunday

We were up early on Saturday. Our goal was to leave at 7:15 a.m. to head for UALR to see Hannah swim in the Meet of Champions. Up by 6:00 and walked Ziva to let her have her outside time. Grab a bite, dress and get ready at a high rate of speed...for us. About 7:10 Sue went out the door to use hairspray. She has to go outside to keep from setting the CO2 sensor off in the Bus. Well as she went out the door, Ziva went also...right over her right shoulder and on the trail to a squirrel she had seen out the window. Sue was in high pursuit...

Jul 20, 2018 - Two HOT Days

I was up early on Thursday to make sure I made my 8:00 a.m. tee time with my brother Dan. Since I had to drive to Bryant I was out about 7:00 headed that way. I have forgotten how much fun it is to drive in early morning traffic. I arrived at 7:35 so I was good to go. However, my golf game was not. Not swinging a club in four months is tough. Not swinging a club to prepare for the heat was even tougher. I was soaked by the time we tee'd off on hole number 3. I got to enjoy the interaction between Dan's regular group and that more than made...

Jul 18, 2018 - Two more days with Ziva

Well it has been a fast two days and a slow two days, at the same time. Big things are that Beth's gall bladder surgery went well and Uncle Ed is home. But this is how we got through the last two days. We were up early knowing that Beth and Jeff would drop off the girls around 7:30. They were on time and we hustled around and left about 7:50 to drop the girls off at day camp at Lake Nixon. We arrived about 8:15. It had been about 55 - 58 years since I had been to Lake Nixon. Funny but it looks the same. The girls got signed in and headed...

Jul 17, 2018 - Arkansas

This is our second time in Arkansas and I dislike this state. Whenever I am here it seems I run into mechanical issues with the motor home. When Vivian and I first visited Arkansas, we were in Hot Springs heading for Fort Smith. Vivian said since we were close to Texas we had to visit that state. So instead of driving west to Fort Smith we headed southwest and crossed into Texas at Texarkana. It was about 1 in the afternoon and we stopped for gas. While the tank was filling I walked around the motor home and noticed the left front tire had...

Jul 16, 2018 - Getting to know Ziva

Ziva is now a member of the family. We had been to the vet on Friday and this was our first couple of days with Ziva with no itinerary. Our goal was to spend time with her and see if we could establish a routine of some sort. So, up early and walk Ziva so she could take care of business. Not so sure we established much with our early walk. Then it was time to leave her for a while as we went to Sherwood to see Hannah (the Fish) in a swimming meet. We left about 7:15 arriving in Sherwood about 8:00 and playing look for a parking place at...

Jul 13, 2018 - On the road, on the road...Maumelle Park

Wednesday morning we were up and gone from Champaign by 9:30 a.m. We love D & W Lake Campground. We have stayed there about four times. We have stayed within three spaces facing the lake. Good view of the cute little lake and great satellite reception. And it is easy to get out of when you leave. We were off and down the road. Things moved easily and we made great time. One rest area to walk a few minutes and make a quick bite to eat and then back to rolling down I - 57. We were in Hinton RV Park in Sikeston, MO before 3:00 p.m. - 265 miles...

May 30, 2018 - Last two days in the Rock..

Okay, now I will try to complete the catchup postings. We left Russellville after filling up the Bus. It was the only diesel purchase for the month of May. WooHoo!!! Then we headed for Cummins. They were waiting on our arrival to see if they could identify the issue with the generator, which they had worked on and stated was cured on the 3rd of May. We arrived about 1:15 and our rep arrived out front in a few minutes. We explained the issue and he immediately tried to start the generator. He got the same results as we had done on numerous...

May 23, 2018 - Last of the scheduled Doctors appointments

Tuesday morning was my time at Arkansas Urology. Appointment at 8:30 a.m. Standing in line we discovered we were standing by our favorite Aqua Hot tech..Lloyd. We started to visit and SHAZAM...it was our turn to check in. Then back to our pod to wait. We got back to a room faster than we expected. I got to see Iris, since Dr. Mooney was not available. He has not been available for 10 years. But, I like the PA's better anyhow. Check up, X-rays and ultra sound and we were done. Then off to breakfast. LaMadelines was waiting for us to show...

May 21, 2018 - One, Two, Three days gone by.....

Saturday had a slow start and then we hit full gear. We made a few stops looking for various things as we hurried around to get back to the Bus to meet Robert who was going to give us a training lesson on Adobe LightRoom. We made all the stops and got back to the Bus in time to grab a bite and get ready for Robert. He showed up right on time and the learning started. I am sure Sue got more of it than I did but Wow! it was a lot of stuff to learn. We had a lot of pictures to download and it seemed to take forever. We spent almost three hours...
