Today we started out very lazy, well, I did anyway. Slept 11 hours! You know, I get more sleep now than I ever have had in my life. Pretty cool. John and I took a walk down to the beach by our campsite. Found two turtles having a loving relationship. It was too funny. After they stuck their heads up, they immediately separated and swam away. It was like they got caught by Mom and Dad. We drove into downtown Hot Springs, Arkansas. This is the home of President Clinton. We entered Arkansas yesterday and went to the Wm. Jefferson Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock, Ark. It was very a very sleek and modern building with a water feature outside, next to Rock Island Line Railroad Bridge (now renamed the President Clinton Bridge). This was also the “walk of tears” that the Indians, Choctaw, Seminoles and others were forced to walk when the government moved them from the East to Oklahoma. Admission was $5.00 (for seniors…yea!) Nov 19, 2011 - Travel to Lake Ouachita
Monica, Marc, and Evan (nephew) left home before lunch headed to Lake Ouachita State Park in Arkansas. The drive took about 3.5 hours and was uneventful.Arrived at campsite #6 and got all setup and ready for the kids to come later that night. Weather was partly cloudy. After camp was setup, Marc and Monica headed to Walmart to stock up. Garmin decided to send us to a WalMart in Hot Springs Village, NOT Hot Springs. We got to take a 6 mile ride through and over the mountains over a true 'Pig' trail. Had to cross 3 creeks with water flowing...
