We were at the general store at 9:30 this morning to rent our canoe. Taylor was our driver up to Baker's Ford, 10 miles upstream. It was such a nice day on the river, it was sunny, the river was calm. Now I'm going to make a long story very short.....canoes tip over very fast!! We'd been on the river a couple of hours and we had come around a bend in the river where there was a stump on the left bank. May 25, 2013 - Branson, MO to Gilbert, AR

It was raining when Dave was hooking up the trailer this morning, but by the time we left (at 9:25) it had stopped and the sun was coming out. And it continued to get better as we got closer to Gilbert, AR. We only went 68 miles today. Gilbert is a little town on the Buffalo River, population 33. In fact it's on route 333, 3 miles from the closest town, St. Joe, and population 33! I told Dave, I guess you can't have any children until someone dies.....got to keep that "3333333" stuff going! May 24, 2013 - Branson, MO

This morning I couldn't get into my email, but I was able to IM (Instant Message) with Ingrid. She asked if I had called June (my friend and house-sitter) and I replied, "No, why would I?" The next words I read were, "There was a 5.7 earthquake in Greenville last night." So of course I called June and a few other people. Boy am I glad I wasn't there!!
